July 8, 2025
NKC Health named Ian Rosbrugh, MD, medical staff president. Dr. Rosbrugh, a urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon with NKC Health Urogynecology, began his one-year term on July 1. In this role, Dr. Rosbrugh chairs the Medical Executive Committee, provides leadership to his colleagues and acts as a liaison between the medical staff and the hospital’s administration.
“Health care is evolving fast — markets are shifting, expectations are changing and financial pressures are growing,” Dr. Rosbrugh said. “Part of my role is to help us navigate these challenges by advocating for our staff, staying grounded in our mission, and supporting the changes we need to keep moving forward. We're a strong institution and staying strong means continuing to evolve."
Prior to joining the new NKC Health Urogynecology practice last fall, Dr. Rosbrugh began his service with the Meritas Health Pavilion for Women in 2007. He chaired several hospital committees, including the Department of Surgery, Maternal-Child Services and Surgical Advisory. Dr. Rosbrugh served as a member of the Medical Executive Committee for more than a decade.
"Dr. Rosbrugh’s deep clinical expertise, long-standing commitment to our institution and collaborative approach make him an outstanding choice to represent our medical staff during this pivotal time in health care,” said Steven Starr, MD, FACC, NKC Health chief medical officer.
A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Urogynecologic Society and the Kansas City Gynecologic Society, Dr. Rosbrugh is a member of the American Medical Association and board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstruction by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his medical degree in 2003 from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his residency in 2007 at the University of Kansas Hospital.
In 2025, Dr. Rosbrugh was named among the inaugural winners of Reputation’s 900 Award, which recognizes providers or locations with an online customer satisfaction score of 900 or higher.
Dr. Rosbrugh succeeds Collin Lovitt, DO, a hospitalist with NKC Health Hospitalists.
