Dr. Ranes is very considerate and doesn’t believe in unnecessary tests. Allowed me to choose my own path. If I need him, he’s only a phone call away.
Your office called on the 21st and cancelled my appointment for the 25th because the Doctor was not going to be in the office. I had to wait 3 months for original appointment and now have to figure out when I can reschedule.
Check in went smoothly and did not have to wait any more than 5 minutes to be called back to exam room. Dr Ranes was excellent in informing me of any changes in my health and patiently answered all my questions. He’s an excellent doctor, and I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Ranes knows his business. I am not a compliant patient and push back which I did to a sleep apnea in-lab overnite. I was adamant that was not my issue. I told Dr. Ranes I would do everything possible prior to a sleep apnea lab sleepover. After a CT scan for a starter, the 2nd test produced a diagnosis and I am like a reincarnated person. I sleep soundly and all my peripheral physical problems (and some emotional) have subsided. The tests ordered by your physician are so important. I am enormously grateful for Dr. Ranes and Nicole.

I was told at Dr. visit I would need follow up. A month and half later I still haven't been contacted. My equipment is broken and the supply company has been sending request to Dr. office for approval and the supply company is not receiving a response either.
I was referred by my primary Position. The office called to set my appointment. Ask me all my questions about myself my illness and my insurance, appointment was set. Went for my appointment and found out that the doctor does not accept my insurance. What a wasted trip.

This was my first visit with Dr. Ranes and i give him five stars for making this patient, who has severe "white coat syndrome" feel very comfortable. He not only was thorough, he checked for symptoms of another issue I have in addition to the issue for this visit (he probably thought I didn't notice). The visit didn't take long, but all bases were covered. I would say Dr. Ranes is very friendly -- and efficient!

My dad has had Dr. Ranes since his major COPD episode in 2015 when he came to NKCH as a respiratory failure. We always had great appointments with him until dad's apt on July 20, 2023. I brought my parents to the appointment since my dad needed a wheelchair. My mom and I were rather dumfounded that Dr, Ranes matter of fact told my mom and I that my dad's COPD wouldn't end his life before his dementia would. This was even after we told him dad was placed on hospice due to 3 admissions this year for respiratory issues. It was even after we told Dr. Ranes that his oxygen levels dropped into the lower 60's and even into the 50's several times after walking a mere 25' to the bathroom. Dad's dementia wasn't that bad. He knew who we all were and carried on conversations with us. He had a hard time staying awake during his appointment due to his O2 levels dropping so often that he wasn't sleeping well (dad would also get get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and take his CPAP off and would forget to put it back on). We still can't understand why he said that his dementia would get him before his COPD, especially after being put on hospice due to his COPD. Unfortunately, my dad died from COPD a mere two weeks later on 8/3/23. Much quicker than what the hospice nurses and I anticipated. I wish he could have better prepared my elderly mother for the inevitable future dad had with his COPD instead of giving a false hope in a sense that the dementia would take him. I know he could never given her a definite date but better preparing her would have made a world of difference.

Dr Ranes always listens to me and takes into account how I describe my symptoms. He's thorough and I'm pleased with the care he provides.
Dr. Ranes is great at asking questions. He wants to learn how you feel and if there are any concerns he needs to address. He detected my heart murmur was worse than before and ordered the appropriate tests. Together we will see where this journey takes us.

I have been sick for a very long time. For the first time I feel like a doctor not only listened but heard me. He diagnosed the problem and come up with a new plan. Great doctor. I really like him and his nurse. I just wish that NKC HOSPITAL had a 380B program so I could get my medicine cheaper. Stiloto medicine is really expensive but I have tried to cut down on it and I just can’t. He used to give me some samples when I got in the donut hole but now says he’s not getting them because of covid(salesmen aren’t coming around). I love this doctor and I don’t want to have to go to another just so I can get my medicine.

Let me first say I Do Not like NKC Hospital. Slow to pay any attention to patients and their needs. I was referred to Dr Ranes and I was shocked when I met him at how much attention he paid to me and my concerns. His nurse is Outstanding and I am Thrilled with the service and attention I receive consistently. I feel 99% better. I have been seeing Dr Ranes nearly three years.

My husband waited 6 hours at North Kansas City Hospital to get walk in chest ex rays, RX by Justin Ranes, and now 2 weeks later, I have called the past 2 days to schedule an appointment for results and am transferred to a answering machine stating not to leave multiple messages or it will delay response time!!! STILL NO CALL BACK after leaving phone number!
