I have been going to Dr Maturo for my diabetes for some time. From day 1 and as recent as this last week he has been very thorough in asking questions and answering my question to ensure I am on the right track. I am not the best patient in following the things I should, however he has patience and good solid advice on how to better take care of myself. I am age 76 and work at my Food Pantry at least 5 out of 7 days and going strong. I am thankful for having Dr. James Maturo as my doctor.
Dr Maturo is always attentive when we are in the office. He listens and is not rushing us thru. We feel we receive excellent medical care there with him and with his NP.

I have a wound on my leg from a fall. I have been going to the Wound Care Center for about 6 weeks. Dr. Maturo has been there for many of my visits. He has always taken the time I needed and has been a great communicator. I am now on a wound vac and the healing is better than expected. Shout out to him and the Wound Care Center at NKC Hospital.

Great Internal Medicine doctor. Well thought of in the Medical arena. Gave me a historical view of BP meds, and ordered a med for me. I am to take half if syncope is a problem, call if side effects continue. Follow up call to him in 2 weeks if BP stable. It's the in depth followup that keep his patients safe and well.

I have never had a personal physician who pays more attention and listens to his patients like Maturo does. It was quite by accident I found him. When my PCP retired, he made a list of recommended physicians to change to and he happened to be on the list so I just picked one. His staff is very good also and friendly. He does not come in with an ego like so many physicians, just so down to earth and an excellent Dr. Very intelligent and he truly cares about his patients and their outcome. He will keep working until he finds a solution to your issue and does not give up and ghost you like so many of them do. His office staff ALWAYS calls you and I have never had to call to find out any results of tests, they call usually the very next morning with results and orders if he changes anything. If you are having any issues with your PCP and you are seeking a new one I would 100% highly recommend you see Dr. Maturo. He runs a very tight ship and the staff and nurses are excellent. He is by far the nicest, kindest, most thorough and intelligent physician I have ever had, and I would drive half the day just to see him if I had to.

Maturo is a fantastic physician. He does not have an ego at all. He talk to you in ways you understand and he makes it seem very simple no matter what he’s having you do. I have been a patient at Briarcliff practice for over 21 years. I have seen Doctors come and go (for their own health reasons) and loved each one of them. I have been a patient of Dr. Maturo for 8/9 years. I am a easy patient, never hospitalized and majority of visits for colds, etc. I was recently exposed to hazardous fumes and became very sick. I saw Dr. Maturo for this exposure initially. He gave me bad advice, I became worse. I excused this one - because I honestly felt he did not know. I saw him for a follow up and attempted to provide "what your Doctor should know" information from our Union Industrial Hygienist. Getting this information to him was no easy feat. His Nurse did not return my phone call regarding this, the person answering the phones (lacking customer service skills) would not allow me to email the information - so I hand delivered an easy to read packet with a cover letter - highlighting the section to assist me and for others to reference, if needed. I applied for STD while I heal - a benefit I have never used in my over 35 year working career. Dr. Maturo denied my STD and gave me a diagnosis that did not apply to me, I did not see him for, do not have and never had. There are multiple negative repercussions as a result of his action/inaction that I would rather not have to address while trying to heal. That said, I would not recommend Dr. Maturo. For whatever reason, this Doctor had all the information at his fingertips to assist his patient but chose not to. If he did not understand or did not want to treat me - I would understand. But to misdiagnosis, deny my benefits and not take the time to educate himself and/or search for the answer is disappointing. There are others in the group, Dr. Law and his Nurse who listen and care - that I would recommend.
