Doctor Heizman has been my doctor with all 3, and now on my 4th, pregnancies. I was a young mom and had my daughters back to back, & when I was having my first, heizman was pregnant with her second. And her advice she would give me is advice I still to this day hold close to my heart. I have full faith in Heizman and her team. Dr Heizman is professional, courteous, and has great bedside manners. She provided appropriate and accurate diagnosis and treatment. However, her staff are difficult to work with. It was easy to secure my first appointment, I called and was scheduled to see her almost immediately (within less than a week.) Then a few days later, they called and tried to change my appointment since Dr Heizman had an interview at the same time and they somehow didn’t block off her schedule and still scheduled me in. I explained I have difficulty switching my schedule around for that day due to work meetings. After several back and forth phone calls with numerous staff, they told me Dr Heizman can still see me at the same time. I’m grateful but also, why couldn’t they figure that out before calling me so many times? After the initial appointment, they scheduled me in for two more appointments within the next two weeks. I quickly realized the third appointment was unnecessary and tried to reschedule or cancel it. (I have an insurance plan that has a $100 copay so I didn’t want to waste $100) I called numerous times and spoke with numerous staff members. No one was willing to reschedule the appointment for me. They told me if I cancel the appointment, I won’t be able to see Dr Heizman for months. However, the previous appointments were all scheduled within the same week, sometimes a few days apart with ease because they wanted to fit me in. I showed up to the third appointment and was only with Dr Heizman for less than five minutes, (while an intern sat there too) while she repeated to me the exact same things she told me at the appointment a week ago, since my condition hasn’t changed. Like I thought, this third appointment was unnecessary and I felt I had no choice but to show up unless I want to wait months to see Dr Heizman again. Would I want to see Dr Heizman again even though she’s such an excellent physician? No, because of how difficult my experience was in terms of appointments.

Dr Heizman is the best! She has delivered two of my babies and tied my tubes. She is thorough, so kind and will "shoot you straight" but has a way of being so comforting too. We just relocated and I have no problem driving an hour and a half to see her. There's a wait to get in to see her but it's worth it! Make the appointment, your health will be in good hands!

I’ve had the pleasure of Dr. Heizman being my OB-GYN for all my pregnancies. She is a rare breed. I never felt like just a patient to her. I had complicated pregnancies due to a pre-existing condition. Dr. Heizman took the time to become knowledgeable about my unique case, consulting with my other physicians to create a plan specifically for me and my situation. When my condition worsened, she was everything I could have asked for and more. Her presence was calming. She spoke to me with respect, explaining exactly what she felt we should do, why, and answering all my questions in an understandable language without being condescending. She even took the time to address my husband and his concerns and was open to discussing and implementing our preferences. I’m grateful to say that while my pregnancies came with scary situations, I never felt traumatized and that is entirely because of Dr. Heizman and her kind, caring, knowledgeable demeanor. She earned every one of the stars I gave her.

My favorite doctor to visit! I met Dr. Heizman over 6 years ago with our pregnancy of our last child. She is very personable, wants to get to know you as a person not just a patient. Our delivery was great with her there in the midst of a tornado storm & having to switch room for shelter! Appointments- Heizman takes the time to ask you how you’re doling all around - physically, mentally & emotionally. She listens to your wants/concerns and offers sound advice. I couldn’t ask for a better OBGYN! Highly recommended from our family!

She is calm, positive but always honest and direct. I never felt rushed, always a priority ; always got quick return calls from her nurse. She is in-demand in her office - and for a good reason.. she is worth the wait to get in! She is someone who I trust , and she kept me & my babies safe all the way through delivery, and after. When looking for an Obgyn , you really want a person who you can have that close patient/doctor relationship and feel completely comfortable talking about any and all concerns….Dr Heizman is that person for me. All I can say is I absolutely love her and Highly recommend her.
Dr. Heizman delivered my son. A VBAC done naturally according to my wishes. Throughout the entire pregnancy, she was always so patient with all of my questions and always explained things very plainly. She was very encouraging knowing I was nervous about the VBAC considering my last birth was very traumatic (did not happen at NKCHA) and she was always cued into any of my concerns. The day of the birth, she was so calm and relaxed and helped me feel calm even without an epidural. My experience was incredible and out of this world, healing in fact. It would not have been possible without Dr. Heizman and I’m grateful for her guidance and expertise. I would strongly recommend her if you’re reading reviews like I was 40 weeks ago unsure of who to pick.
3 stars here’s why. I love Dr Heizman! She’s great! The lady’s at the front desk or whoever answers the phones when you call are absolutely horrible and rude everytime. Once I was in there for almost 2 hours waiting. I got there right after lunch was over so I was the only one in there for 20 minutes and still watched as other women went in before I did. I went up to the desk to see why and they forgot to check me in so I waited and waited for 2 hours. Every time I call and need information about anything (this is my first pregnancy) they are so very rude!! Heizmans nurses are great but that front desk some thing needs to be done there.
Dr. Heizman is absolutely the best doctor I have ever been to. She took me on as a new patient at 36ish weeks pregnant after we moved to KC. I am SO SO SO grateful she did. I had complications with my delivery and she was so calm through out it all. I felt as if she was in my corner and let me choose how I wanted to proceed with my delivery. She will answer all your questions with no judgement and genuinely seems invested in you as a person. I seriously could not recommend her more. She is 100% worth any sort of wait you might have getting an appointment.

Dr. Heizman is AMAZING to say the least. She always listens and never ever tries to pressure anything you aren’t 100% comfortable with. She always makes sure you’re taken care of. I drive an hour and 5 min to see her and it’s so worth it. She is incredibly friendly and made both my pregnancies and deliveries feel like I knew what I was doing. (Even when I had lists of questions/concerns, she didn’t hesitate to go through everything with me and put my mind at ease.) Plainly put, she is the absolute best!

Dr. Heizman is the absolute best. I transferred to her from a fertility clinic when I was 10 weeks pregnant. She’s an in-demand doc at this office, so I had to do a couple of appointments with a nurse practitioner before actually seeing Dr. Heizman, but she is 100% worth the wait. She is kind, compassionate, honest, and will never make you feel rushed or like any of your questions are stupid. I ended up with a long and complicated labor and delivery and she was there every step of the way explaining my options and including me in the discussion rather than making decisions for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Heizman to anyone looking for a new OB.
It's taken me a while to be able to write this and it is going to be a novel. I wish I could leave more stars. Dr. Heizman saw me from the time I was around 8 weeks along to the time I had my babies. From the very first appointment, she was amazing. I am a person who has a lot of anxiety at hospitals. She made sure I was comfortable every time. I was high risk because I was pregnant with twins. At 25 weeks and 3 days I went to the labor and delivery floor after calling the hospital about some weird pain I was having and being told to come in. They checked me for pre-term labor, but everything was fine. They sent the ultrasound tech in and a few minutes later Dr. Heizman came into the room. She told me that there was no heartbeat on baby A and that she was going to have to get me back to the OR for an emergency C-section so that she could try and save baby B. I was terrified. I blamed myself the whole way there and she, along with all of the nurses around me, assured me that it was not my fault and while she was upfront and prompt about what she had to do, she was gentle. She tried everything she could, but despite their best efforts, the other twin died a few minutes after being placed in my arms. Every single person I came into contact with was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Pam and Stacey made my hospital stay alot easier. They both made sure that we got our babies' footprints and moulds of their feet. They had the hospital take pictures for us and they gave us a cold cot so we could have our babies with us while we were staying there. I ended up staying for 5 days due to other complications so it was nice to have those days with our babies. I can honestly say that I feel like Dr. Heizman and the labor and delivery team saved my life. They were all so kind and compassionate. They even invited me to a Bereavement walk at the hospital and sent me a card that all of the labor and delivery team signed. I will never forget how well they treated me during the worst thing that has ever happened in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be returning when we have our future babies. 💕

Not being from Kansas City or the state for that matter. I wasn’t too sure exactly where to go to get the best care for my pregnancy. Since this is my first pregnancy I have been a horrible worrier. Luckily my husband and I became great friends with our realtor, whose wife is a nurse at the hospital. We asked her who she recommended and she immediately said Dr. Heizman. All I can say is I absolutely love her. Personable, friendly and amazing. She is someone who I trust to keep me and my baby safe all the way through delivery, and then some. When looking for an OB/GYN you want someone who you can have that patient, Dr. relationship and feel completely comfortable talking about any concerns. Dr Heizman has been that person for me. Highly recommend her.

I had 2 miscarriages in the past, so I was very nervous with my third pregnancy. Dr. Heizman made me feel so comfortable and reassured! Everything went wonderfully this time around, and I could be more grateful for the wonderful care she took with me.
Although the receptionists can sometimes be annoying and rude; Dr Heizman was very understanding and concerned for my well being as her patient. She tried her best to meet my needs and explanatory to all my questions. I've had 2 babies with her, and everything went well.

I was very appreciative that Dr. Heizman was willing to take me as a new patient at 35 weeks pregnant when I needed to transfer. From then in until birth she did an awsome job at getting caught up with my charts. She dis not waste time in doing any retest with some documents did not come through form my previous Ob. On days that she was on call for delivery she had a little more to attend to with her phone and the wait time was a bit longer, but that gave me comfort when thinking about it being me in that delivery room. She is VERY nice, very informative, and is umm gentle when it comes to cervix checks (in comparison to other Obs). At delivery time I had to be enduced (which was fathers day) she left her family to ensure to be there and did not seem upset about it. I felt so bad. But the nurses at NKC had me well taken care of until she arrived. 💖👍👍👍👍👍Very good Dr highly recommend!
I seen Dr. Heizman today for the first time today. I transferred to her at 31 weeks pregnant. She was absolutely amazing she listened, answered my questions and genuine in my care and concerns. I think I found a great OB!!!
I can't speak on behalf of the rest of the staff, but Dr. Heizman is a great doctor who listens to concerns. I have never felt like her time in the office is rushed and she makes a less desirable annual visit seem not so bad.
horrible place. never again will I go there. got to my 1015 apt. which I was told my apt was at showed up at 10 waited an hour went up to desk and was informed my apt was at 1045.. I said I double checked two day ago and was told apt was as 1015 then a snotty nurse said well you should know to arrive early.. um excuse me. I did at ten and then they tried to charge me 25 for cancle same day . I would never suggest anyone ever going there horrible people
