Brian T. Lovitt, D.O., FACOG

I made a fallow up appointment with Dr. Lovett after being seen in the ER. I came to him knowing I have a reoccurring complicated cyst and that I had received abnormal pap results. While in the office he asked me about having children and pushed being able to help me get pregnant, that’s not what I want. During this appointment he was dismissive of my abnormal pap (that my former dr in another state believes needs to have a fallow up biopsy). The only thing he wanted to help me with was getting pregnant. After getting a second ultrasound, confirming the cysts size and that it is complicated (the same that I have already have to have removed), he communicated with me on the portal telling me there is nothing he can do for me and then told me that my cyst does not cause me pain. When I asked him what my options were he referred me to my PCP. I will never see him again and I hope he doesn’t ignore problems in other patients. What a shame that Meritas is allowing for such awful care under their name.

Dr. Lovitt did my cesarean in October of this year. I got to see a high risk doctor, and I felt comfortable and confident with him as my doctor. He did an excellent job and treated me with respect and was friendly and professional. He's a great doctor, if I were to ever have another baby then I would choose him hands down.

Dr Lovitt and his staff are great. Excellent skills, and always put me at ease. Even if I haven't been there for a year, he and his staff walk in familiar with my history, so I know they take time to review my chart. I have nothing but confidence in their care.

I was able to express my feelings and concerns about my body and he validated all my feelings and listed out all my options and did not push any hormonal "fixes" on me after I said I didn't want them. I always like seeing Dr. Lovitt. I have a lot of health issues and my pregnancy was really hard. He did a great job of keeping it real and showing compassion. We switched from another OB to seeing him around 14 weeks and it was the best decision we made. He came highly recommended by our high risk doctor and we'll continue to see him. I'm more of a "let's deal with it if we have to" kind of person and he was right there with me. He didn't hesitate to say "I don't know" if he needed to and for anyone sees a doctor regularly knows that isn't the norm. If you're looking for great care definitely reach out and see if he's taking new patients.

Dr. Lovitt was very kind and compassionate with a great sense of humor and very personable. He took the time to reach out after normal business hours and thoroughly explain to me diagnostic results and offered options clearly. I experienced my first miscarriage at my first appointment with him and he really helped me through the process with great kindness and clarity. I would have loved to have him as my OB provider had my pregnancy progressed and highly recommend him.

I did not have a positive experience with Dr. Lovitt. I booked an appointment with this person because he was the soonest open appointment, and I had positive experience with another doctor at North Kansas City Hospital. Dr. Lovitt asked what I do for a living, and I told him I worked with adults with Down syndrome. He repeatedly told me that that was 'so sad' while making a frowny face while sharing his opinion. When inquiring about birthing a baby at home, he told me, in more words, that I would die and my baby would die, too. I definitely don't think birthing at home is for everyone, and I am still making this choice - but I would have much preferred literature and information around this opinion than scaring me out of a choice that is mine. I cried in the room when he left, and then cried in my car in the parking lot. I've thought about this experience frequently since this incident - I don't know why it took so long to share my experience with others, but today seems like a good day to do so.

Dr. Lovitt is the best! He truly cares about his patients - he takes time to get to know them personally, makes sure they are armed with information regarding their health , and is incredibly patient with any questions I’ve had over the years. I highly recommend him for your care!

This was my 1st male obgyn doctor and I was very scared because I am very very high risk but after my first appointment with him I was fine. He actually care about how I feel and everything and I am very grateful for that especially after loosing 3 babies. I lost a baby in June of 2023 and then pregnancy I got a good feeling about. We going make to full term. If you are looking for a doctor to take some stress off your hands while pregnant consider him especially if you are high risk.

Not everyone is for everybody, and perhaps Brian wasn’t for me. I found him condescending, and a bit arrogant. Mainly an issue of tone. Either way, I did not leave feeling like it was worth my time or money. I don’t recommend.

I have had a bad experience in the past with a male OB. But I have had a positive experience with Dr. Brian when my water leaked at 29 weeks with my daughter last year. So when I got pregnant again I got to pick him, he was very sympathetic, encouraging, and knowledgeable.

Dr Lovitt was very personable! Took extra time to make me feel comfortable and offered a lot of valuable information without me even needing to bring up. He obviously took time to understand my needs. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Lovitt is an outstanding professional. I found out I was pregnant in September 2022 and was nervous since it was my first child. I chose to see Dr. Lovitt and it was the best decision that I could have made. At every appointment he made me laugh and showed genuine interest in my health. He always explained the “why” behind procedures and any questions I had. I never felt rushed while in his care. He was always attentive, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. My appointment always ran on schedule and many times I was even seen before my appointment time. Whenever I would call the office with an issue in my pregnancy, like morning sickness, they would be quick to find a solution and get back to me that same day. 10/10 care. I am a former NICU nurse, and he is one of the best providers that I have seen. You won’t regret choosing him as your provider.

After having my first child I was adamant I wouldn’t have another male OB but when making an appointment for my second child Dr. Lovitt was the only provider available. The front desk said “you’re going to love him. We call him Dr. Smiley” and they weren’t wrong! Dr. Lovitt has now delivered my second and third child. My Dr. retired and I was very nervous to use someone new after 35 years. Dr. Lovitt came in and spoke to me and got to know me before we went onto my exam. He was down to earth and professional all while not making my visit stressful. He understood my concerns, listened and responded. I was told I would love him and they were right!

I had recently moved to Missouri after having my first 3 children in Kansas, and needed a new OBGYN that accepted my insurance. Dr Lovitt came highly recommended and I can definitely see why. This was my 4th c-section so naturally I was already super nervous about it, let alone the fact I had to switch doctors. I can’t say enough good things about him. This was by far the “best” c-section I ever had. It was so fast and easy and it was my quickest recovery. My care from start to finish was fantastic. I switched to Dr. Lovitt in 2019 during my first pregnancy. I was hesitant to have a male OB, but Dr. Lovitt refreshed my outlook on OB’s and prenatal care. He made everything simple and explained things in a way that i understood, I could not be happier with my decision to switch. Dr. Lovitt (and Lisa) answered all my questions, silly ones included. I have had some awful experiences with GYNs before and honestly was reluctant to see Dr. Lovitt. My fears were completely unwarranted. Dr. Lovitt listened to me, respected my opinion, and when faced with an unusual challenge, he researched and got back to me very quickly. He presented me with choices for my care and truly listened to me as a woman with my own individual needs. I've never been more impressed with a doctor and only wish he could see me for all of my care. I am no longer needing pregnancy care, but do need a great GYN to help me manage a condition. I will absolutely see Dr. Lovitt again and will recommend him to friends, in fact, I already have.

I thought he was ok as a doctor, like he knew his stuff and was calming but I thought he was also very unprofessional. I felt like he was a little flirty with the female nurses and the med student that were around during some of my prenatal appointments. They didn't seem bothered by it so I continued to see him until most recently he made a joke about me kissing another doctor because me and the other doctor had both had covid around the same time. I felt like that was super inappropriate and it made me uncomfortable so I requested to switch to another doctor in the group. All doctors should be professional, but gynecologists especially should be above reproach.

Dr. Lovitt is one of a kind. He is extremely competent and very compassionate. He is a real person who cares and actually listens to his patients. He recently performed my hysterectomy and gave me a new lease on life. Thank you and amazing don’t even covey how this man has improved my life

Highly recommend Dr. Lovitt, he is amazing to say the least! I transferred to him in the middle of my pregnancy and I am sooo glad I did. He is super easy to talk to and treats his patients like close friends. He will answer any questions that you have without judgement and with knowledgeable answers. I was super anxious and worried about delivering during the pandemic and if my husband would be able to be there for it because of COVID, he reassured me he would do everything to make sure my husband could be there. When it was time to deliver he went out of his way to make sure he was there to deliver our baby boy. So many good things to say about Dr. Lovitt, I only wish he could be my PCP! If you want an easy to talk to Doctor with amazing bed side manner Dr. Lovitt is your guy! We will for sure be using him again for our next pregnancy!

I went through 2 pregnancies with Dr. Lovitt. The first one I had severe preeclampsia and the second I had gestational hypertension. Dr. Lovitt did an amazing job explaining everything to myself and my husband, and also making sure our little ones were safe. He has such a laid back personality that you just always feel relaxed and at ease. He doesn’t make you feel judged like some doctors make you feel. I have several friends that also use him as well and they all love him too. Everyone I know would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an ongyn that you can trust and will ease all your emotions during pregnancy.

Dr. Lovitt is a wonderful mix of professional with a laid-back demeanor. He is supportive of all birth plans so long as mother and baby are healthy including those that are more Natural minded. He is knowledgeable and will provide any medical information Pertaining to your birth plan requests without forcing his opinions on you. He is upbeat and involved in his patients care. He is caring and kind and funny. He is supportive and made me feel comfortable throughout my entire pregnancy and delivery. He is generally on time and quick without making you feel rushed. I would recommend his care to anyone!

Dr.Lovitt was awesome through out my pregnancy. It was my first pregnancy and I didn’t really know what to expect or what to do. He definitely made sure I knew everything I needed to and was super easy to talk to through out the whole thing! He was always making sure I was okay and going above and behind to make sure I knew and had what I needed! My baby was a vaginal delivery and he did awesome and made sure I was okay through out the whole thing and even came by the next day to see the baby and made sure I was feeling okay! I would definitely recommend him.

We absolutely love Dr. Lovitt. He is very open/honest and extremely knowledgeable. He was very easy to talk with during all of the appointments and when I had a question, Lisa and Dr. Lovitt were extremely kind and quick to call me back. Dr. Lovitt did an urgent c-section for our baby boy and we always felt we were in such great hands the entire time. We highly recommend Dr. Lovitt and are so thankful we had him as our Dr, as well as, Lisa! Great, great people!

Long review. My boyfriend and I have had several losses since 2014. By several, I mean 6. Might even be more than that. I got so defeated I stopped counting. My last miscarriage happened January 9, 2019. Normally I never follow up with the OB the Emergency room assigns me, I always go back to old faithful, but this time, I couldn’t even tell you what inspired me to make a follow up appointment with their recommendation. I attempted to make that follow-up appointment and God kept blocking it. Turns out, they recommended an OB who wasn’t on call that night but their policy states that I had to follow up with whoever the OB was on call that night. *Insert* Dr. Brian Lovitt, my “miracle worker.” After every miscarriage they draw blood and run a battery of tests and such. So that’s what he does at our first appointment. He comes back with the test results, my vitamin D is dangerously low (a 9) which would explain why my body was sooooooooooooooo achy all the time. Told me that sometimes low vitamin D can be attributed to losses. So I get put on a prescription of vitamin D for 8 weeks to get my levels back up, a prenatal daily, am told to keep having sex, and to take a baby aspirin daily for clotting. Old faithful never told me any of this, just always use to say, “all your tests came back normal, you’re fine. Don’t know why you keep having losses, but just keep trying.” March 2019, spring break, We make a baby who would eventually be known as Yuri Giselle ♥️😍. I sit on pins and needles month after month, appointment after appointment. Go see the high risk doctor *Insert* Dr. George Lu, and find out that my cervix is short. The following week at the next appointment it got shorter and Yuri was measuring some weeks behind. Definitely didn’t want a cerclage for my short cervix (sounds painful, look it up), so Dr. Lu suggested we try the pessary. It kept Yuri in the womb Just as it was suppose to. At my 40 week checkup my amniotic fluid was low so Dr. Lovitt decided it was best for me to go ahead and get induced the following morning. Inducement was started around 5 am, Dr. Lovitt came in and broke my water at 7:40 am and said jokingly, “let’s have this baby out by lunch okay.” I labored until 10:45 am and was only 4 cm dilated. By the time 11:45 am hit I was 9.5 cm dilated and wanted to push. Everyone was rushing and moving so fast. They didn’t expect such a huge jump like that. At any rate, Dr. Lovitt came in and said I could push, so I did. She came out at 11:57 am weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces......right before lunch time lol. Can we talk about how awesome God is? The true orchestrator of this entire story! I rave about Dr. Lovitt to anyone who will listen. To finally have my rainbow baby is a feeling out of this world!! If you’d like a doctor who is hilariously funny, personable, very informative, and open to questions (which in my experience many doctors are not), Dr. Brian Lovitt is the man to see. I will be seeing him for all of my women’s health needs and subsequent prenatal care and pregnancies.

I just had a baby boy by C-section performed by doctor Lovitt I recommend him. He did amazing job getting my healthy baby boy to me and keeping out of pain. I did not see any other doctor besides him my whole pregnancy. He made every visit comfortable answer any questions and explain any things I did not even ask about that was great to know about. My husband and I love his schedule works with both of ours at all times. I can go on and on how awesome he is definitely recommend him. And we'll be going back to him if he's still there for are last child if he's a available.

I recently had my first child and knew very little about what to expect but he was great throughout my entire pregnancy, labor & delivery and the recovery days after. My first appointment with Dr. Lovitt was nothing less than enjoyable. He took the time to truly get to know me as a patient.
