It's been so frustrating to watch my spouse not get the care she needs. Dr. Amanda Humiston hasn't been helpful, and my spouse continues to suffer. I'm starting to think there are no good OBGYNs in the KC area that is up to date with how to treat women in perimenopause. One thing I know for sure, Dr. Humiston is not it.

It had been several yrs I let pass without having a gynecologist visit. My periods became unmanageable due to extremely heavy periods. Being just over 40 yrs Old I was really worried about something bigger being wrong so I put off finding a Dr and making a much needed appointment. Wasn't until 9months later I found myself in the ER needing a blood transfusion due to becoming severely anemic because of this .I was admitted and spent almost 4 days in the hospital! That's when I was given my first appointment Dr. Amanda Humiston. She examed me and I ended up needing a minor surgery to remove a uterine fibroid that was in my cervix. Surgery was an in and out process with a short recovery. Im very Happy with the outcome and highly recommend Dr. Humiston. She helped make my life as a woman normal again and I couldn't be more happy with the results. Thank u so much Dr Humiston!

Recently saw Dr. Humistom and I was impressed with her bedside manner as well as her staff. She listened to my concerns and treated my issue.
I was okay with this doctor until the continued canceled appointments and when I asked why all she had to deliver a baby which I understand but the appointments were canceled the day before and sometimes on the same day so it made it hard for me to even get an appointment with her sometimes waiting for months until the next available appointment. Also I have been in a lot of pain and have asked her to help manage it I really don't get any clear answers about what's going on other than get on birth control
My girlfriend has went to this dr many times over the same issue the last year, is in extreme pain and has had been told there’s no test or anything they can do. other medical people telling her she needs ultrasounds etc and then goes to this dr and ask for these and the dr is rude and Denied tests. She barely will talk to my girlfriend when she visits and won’t tell her what it could be or what it is. She just says you need more birth controll on top of her other birth control and that is not doing anything. My girlfriend ends up crying after every vist because of how unprofessional and un sympathetic this dr is. It’s already a touchy subject and females should feel safe when visiting a gynecologist. Stay away

Amazing doctor!! I had mentioned to two other doctors about how itchy I was and they just chalked it up to allergies, she’s the only one who ran blood tests and found out what was wrong! She listened to me completely and had no problem explaining and reassuring me.
She will base your diagnosis and symptoms off of her other patients. She refuses to address your concerns other than to pass you off to another doctor. ZERO STARS!!!
Dr. Humiston was my favorite in the practice during my pregnancy and I have continued to see her since. She, thankfully, was on call when I was in labor and ended up performing my c-section. I had a few incision issues and she helped me through them. She continues to provide amazing service and I feel she truly listens and answers any and all questions.
I’ve had NOTHING but GREAT experiences with Humiston! She’s done my c section and a tubal removal WHILE PREGNANT for me. Both extremely scary and she made the experience more than calming! LOVE LOVE LOVE HER! She will be doing my next csection in October.
I have been with this group since 2013. Dr. Humiston is my doctor and she has always been great. She is very polite, professional, and caring. She talks to you like a friend and listens to your needs and concerns.
Really disappointed with bed side manner, was given the diagnosis and was told too essentially google it. After being made to feel shame for said diagnosis, during the appointment I had expressed having depression and anxiety and still basically felt like the whole time she couldn't really answer my questions just have blanket answers.
She was my doctor when giving birth to my son took excellent care of me and he was born April 6th healthy as can be

While looking up the # to refer a friend, I saw a couple bad reviews, so decided to leave something. The front desk seems like a well oiled machine to me. After not going to an OBGYN for years, I decided I wanted a woman. I really like Dr. Humiston and her nurses. They are friendly, understanding, and discrete (as much as you can be for this experience). If you complain of issues, extra tests will probably be ordered, but when I've gone in because "it's time" that's all it's been. I did have a unfriendly experience once when getting something scheduled outside the office, but I don't know who that was.
If I could score a zero , I would . Horrible Experience . The staff ( from the front desk to the office manager ) is absolutely unorganized , rude , and completely unprofessional. And the surgery nurse needs to be reported and fired. Wouldnt surprise me of they had lawsuits pending . Completely neglected and misdiagnosed .
If you were referred or thinking of trusting this Dr and her staff ..I would think twice and RUN away .

Dr. Humiston has been by ob-gyn for years. As my life and needs changed, I was so glad to have someone to grow with. She spent time talking to me about the right birth control options in my younger years, into fertility concerns when it took me two years to get pregnant, through a healthy pregnancy and first time craziness, she delivered my daughter in an unplanned cesarean-and we're all great. She is by the book and will not just tell you what you want to hear-she'll do what's best.
Changing Dr's. She doesn't listen do you when you are having problems. Refuses to give you options with your body regarding abnormalities you are having. Very disappointed. Do not go do this doctor unless you have a very high pain tolerance and no opinion on your own body.
One of the rudest women I've ever encountered. She missed my ovarian torsion, because she didn't listen or believe me. She told me I wasn't a surgical candidate, when I would have died without surgery. Her lack of care caused delay in curing my life-threatening condition.
