Dr.Villanueva and staff are always helpful and personable. They truly care about their patients and anytime I've dealt with nursing, billing or the front desk, they too seem phenomenal. Highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Villanueva for a wellness checkup. His nurse Jin Jun was very pleasant and took thorough notes regarding my concerns. Then when Dr. Villanueva came in, he took the time to listen and talk to me about those concerns. He gave me options to consider, and told me I could follow up later if I needed to. He checked my records to make sure I was up to date on all vaccinations and appointments for mammogram, vision, and colonoscopy.
Best Doctor and wouldn’t see anyone else. Dr. V shows genuine compassion for your health!

Dr. V is amazing!! He should be working at KU medical center, that’s how good of a Dr I think he is. And being a liver transplant patient I see a lot of Drs at KU that are truly amazing and I rank him right up there with them.

Dr. Villanueva is the best doctor in the world. When I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I was really nervous to see him because my regular doctor had just moved away. He was so kind, sat next to me, and went over all of the test results. The next time I saw him, I let him know that my mom hadn't been to the doctor in a very long time, and that I was going to try to get her to come to him since he was so kind. He took the time to write her a note saying he hoped he saw her in the office. My mom finally feels comfortable enough to receive medical care for the first time in decades. She went from saying, "I really don't want to go," on the way to the appointment to saying, "I can't believe how nice that doctor is," on the way home. Dr. V now sees my husband and sister as well. If you have had poor experiences with doctors in the past, go see Doctor V. He is smart, helpful, and kind.
Me and my son saw this Dr as he was not able to see his regular doctor. When we addressed the concerns my son told me when we left he did not feel heard by the Dr and that he didn’t feel the Dr really listened to his needs. The Dr reduced my son’s meds and put him back on a med that my son said he didn’t like being on and didn’t want to be on it. Originally the Dr wanted my son to stop his meds which we addressed was not a good idea at all. So needless to say we most likely will not see him again. We didn’t feel heard

My experience with Dr. Villanova was very positive. His approach is very professional, he listens to your concerns and gives you his opinion and is quick to tell you if he's not sure about something. The amount of respect and courtesy he shows his patients is quite a difference from most Doctors. Any tests ordered are explained to you and follow up is quick. Highly recommend.

Doctor Villanueva is always professional and friendly. When I have a problem, he is always thorough in understanding my message. Likewise he is relentless in finding the source of the issues, and he makes sure that I know what is needed. Referrals are done quickly which is reassuring when needing help.

I’ve have Seen Dr. V several times now; Waiting to see if he was an amazing caring doctor That every nurse and every person that works, there were telling the truth. This doctor has gone above and beyond for me bringing me two tears that he a ANGEL doctor! I don’t know what I would do without him as I am very sick and having trouble getting help. The nurses there are so caring. They are not just doing their job. They truly do everything that they can no matter how much work or how many phone calls they must make. They take care of those that are theirs! I live Far away and it is so hard to get there now. But I will stay with him as long as my health allows me. And I know if I can’t see him because of my health and the distance that he will do everything to help me get to a new GP. Just says he has helping me get to every other doctor that I need. I say this with tears of gratitude this review is genuine and if you are able to actually see him, you are so fortunate. However, all the doctors ,at Meredith, Health, in Platte City Missouri are all this way as well. All of the nurses the staff all of them are this way amazing and genuine and caring if you get to go to the center, you are blessed as I am!
I have been coming to see you Dr. Villanueva since 2011!! He is one of the best Doctors I have come across!! He listens to you, he's compassionate about who you are and what you are going through. He just doesn't give you a bandaid and says "See ya later, you'll get better", NO.. he's not like that.. when he listens to what you have been going through, he then takes it to the next level and get more testing done and if you need a referral to a specialist. He will get you one and he makes sure to get to the bottom of what going on with you!!!!

I LOVE Dr V. I started with him years ago on a referral from a friend and it was the BEST decision I made. I travel from JOCO to Platte City to see him. Dr. V. knows me so well. When I developed a cardiac condition, the cardiologist told my family they did not know my prognosis. Dr. V. called them and told them I would be fine and I was. RUN don't walk to make an appointment with him!
Dr. Villanueva always listens and is very knowledgeable. He has great bedside manner and will take the time to get to the bottom of whatever you are seeing him about.

I absolutely *adore* Dr. Villanueva. He is kind, patient, and offers effective solutions and appropriate referrals. I had to fight my previous PCP for basic tests and interventions! Not to mention he is so pleasant, I always leave the office happy! Part of me wishes to create a fanclub for him, and the other part wishes to keep him a secret so I don’t have to book a visit months in advance. I truly wish every doctor was like Dr. Villanueva!

Dr Villanueva is indecisive. He is not a very good doctor. If you are looking for a doctor, that will just fill you whichever medication that you think that you need, you can probably convince him to write you a prescription. I rather would have a doctor that is good at his practice, who can shed intelligent light on a persons health. If you question why he is choosing a path for treating you, he will likely feel threatened by the question, and you probably will end up with a letter in your mailbox in a couple days saying that he can no longer be your doctor. Don’t waste your time with this one, there are many other doctors that are a lot better.
Positive experience at the Meritas Clinic here in Platte City. Had some lab tests performed right at the time I was scheduled for.The staff is always so professional and courteous. In addition, I received my results much sooner than I expected.
Where do I start with Dr. V? He is just excellent at understanding the needs of his patients. He treats your visits as an opportunity to find out how he can best assist you and get you to where you need to be healthwise. It’s a judgment free zone around him and he really is just kind and caring. I came to him two years ago after a failed experience with another doctor and Dr V came highly recommended. Only downside for me is that their offices are pretty far from me but still worth the drive.

Realistic, investigative approach to health issues.
My husband and I both adore and value Dr. Villanueva. Dr. V is kind, empathetic and knowledgeable. I have recommended him to many friends with the utmost confidence in my decision. If you are looking for an excellent physician that treats you more like a person than the next "patient" he is seeing, then I highly recommend him to you as well.
When I went in for my visit, everything seemed normal. I had mentioned that a member in my family (a newly graduated nurse) had suggested what my symptoms were. Dr. Villanueva admitted that he wasn't sure what diagnosis to give me and then listed off several possibilities ranging from "may go away on its own" to CANCER. I was referred to a specialist and was told what symptoms would require an ER visit if they worsened. My specialist was very confident in the diagnosis of a mild abnormality that was treated with antibiotics. When I reached out to inform them of my frustrations, I was informed he was on a vacation and they would call me back upon his return. I had to call 2 more times and I was still required to pay the copay that they forgot to have me pay the day of and I was told I needed to better understand the healthcare system if I was upset with his diagnosis. I had a horrible experience with Dr. Villanueva and the billing department at his location. I will never return.

I had been with my primary care doctor for over 32 years when he retired. I was anxious, confused, and a little bit scared to find a new doctor that I felt comfortable with and that I trusted. After seeing how Dr. Villanueva took care of my father and mother I was very impressed and confident that he would be my new doctor. I feel that he looks at my health as a whole picture, listens to what I have to say, remembers what I have told him in the past (that in itself is unbelievable) and helps me decide what is best for me. He is a great doctor. I feel blessed to have him take care of me and my family.
