Dr. Oza is the best surgeon in Kansas City! He did my lumpectomy in 2019, & in 2021, my double mastectomy when the breast cancer returned. He also operated on my dad for bile duct cancer. He is the MOST caring, kind, thoughtful and honest doctor I have ever met. Unlike most surgeons, he performs like a plastic surgeon when it comes to scarring and care of the incisions. Most surgeons are like, you get what you get, but Oza minimizes scars and helps ease your concerns. Oza is also the only surgeon that will continue to follow up and genuinely care about what happens to you. Most doctors that deal with your cancer treat you like it doesn’t matter, Oza deeply cares about his patients and wants you to survive this awful disease! If you need a good doctor, go to Oza. I was seen by Dr Oza after being discharged from the hospital, referred to him by the hospitalist. It was to be for the adhesions I have which cause me pain & excessive distension of my abdomen. He ordered an upper GI, which he told Ime at the office visit would help him see where the connections were from my multiple prior surgeries. We knew there was no obstruction per studies done when I was admitted thru the ED. But he seems to have forgotten that conversation. His office staff simply relayed “you have no obstruction, so no need for surgery”. He had also requested records from my prior surgery in 2015 which he obviously didn’t review. He came highly recommended, but obviously doesn’t pay attention to what his discussions with the patient (me) entail. So disappointed.
This man took care of my hernia repair along with a bilateral hernia at the same time, very good surgeon

Dr. Oza is a very genuine and patient surgeon. I would recommend him for whatever you need to have removed or fixed! Plus he has a sense of humor. Having breast cancer it was nice to not have any negative vibes.
He'll have you discharged without pain manageable. He writes the discharge orders up before the surgery. Doesn't speak to the patient before surgery. My family member went in to pre-op without even knowing what they were having done! The Doctor yelled over the phone at the RN and then to the young wife of the patient. I will NEVER recommend this Doctor to take care of my pet, let alone a person I care about. 1 Star because it requires it.

Today was suppose to put in a port for chemo and was unable to do so. Took the day off for this and it was a waste of time. When I had my Masectomony he was suppose to call my contact to let him know how my surgery went and he never did. Today he went out to tell my ride what happen with surgery and more less told him that he would have to tell me that he could not put the port in and my ride asked him if he would tell me when I came out of surgery and he said that he would call me. Nurses in recovery said that he had not showed up and they had to go out and my ride for what Dr Oza said to my driver. I told my Onoconoligist that I wanted KU Radiology to do it and some how he weasled his way in to do it. Now I have to wait even more to get the port in to have chemo.

My own doctor just repeatedly prescribed antibiotics for diverticulitis every few months. He said I would just continue to experience infections every so often. In the consultation room ollowing my husband's resection my daughter asked how he determines when surgery is an option and when he heard if had 5 episodes over two years he calmly said now would be the right time. He actually had his staff contact me, gather my records and schedule the my surgery for to weeks after my husband was released. What a blessing. I met Dr. Oza at the emergency room when I stricken by acute diverticulitis. He patiently explained everything to me. Two other doctors had been consulted previously, and neither offered any solution. After surgery Dr. Oza followed up daily and made sure I was receiving the necessary pain meds. I saw one review that said he didn't take care of his pain and didn't care. I would dispute that. After surgery you will have pain, but it can be controlled somewhat, and Dr. Oza did that.
Dr. Oza is a fabulous surgeon. He saved my life! Everyone else missed my diagnosis but he got it right!
His pain management was horrible. My surgery was very painful and he gave me no pain medicine. He dismissed my pain. He hurts people and does NOT care. What a horrible guy. His fees are very high as well. Not very warm and doesn't take people seriously. Don't look to this man to save you, go find another surgeon. I don't know how to tell his office what a mean guy this person is and why I won't follow up. If you want to be in pain, go see this guy. I wish I could warn people more about this guy.
