NKC Health receives recognition from Newsweek for excellence in gastrointestinal care
June 9, 2026
NKC Health is honored to announce it earned a spot on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026. This distinction highlights the top 1,375 hospitals across the United States for excellence in specialized care. NKC Health made the list for gastrointestinal care.
“This recognition from Newsweek as a Best Hospital for gastroenterology reflects the expertise of our physicians and care teams,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO of NKC Health. “Their dedication to innovation and the implementation of leading-edge procedures and technologies defines their commitment to excellence in patient care.”
Newsweek and Statista, a data and business intelligence portal, compile this list using hospital quality data, patient experience results and surveys from healthcare professionals and hospital managers. The ranking recognizes the leading hospitals in the U.S. across seven medical specialties, featuring a select number of top facilities in each field.
“We are honored to receive this distinction from Newsweek,” said Rick Green, senior vice president of the NKC Health Medical Group. “It highlights a team driven not only to achieve excellence, but to continually grow in ways that make a meaningful impact on our community."
The honor follows another recent recognition from Newsweek in April, when NKC Health was named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for the third consecutive year.
