NKC Health earns two spots on Forbes America’s Best Employers lists for 2025
September 18, 2025
NKC Health soared to No. 10 on Forbes’ 2025 Best Employers by State list for Missouri, up from No. 16 last year. This marks the fifth time the health system has earned a place on the list.
NKC Health also made the Forbes Best Employers for Women list for the second year in a row – one of just 49 hospitals recognized nationwide. Honored for leadership opportunities, pay equity and workplace inclusion, NKC Health is the only Kansas City-area healthcare provider and one of just three hospitals in Missouri and Kansas to earn the distinction.
“Consistently receiving this recognition and moving higher each year shows our commitment to a culture that values diversity, fosters growth and creates opportunity,” said Dawn Bryant, vice president of Human Resources at NKC Health. “It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we foster an environment of respect for all.”
NKC Health’s recognition is a meaningful reflection of its effort to provide a supportive and inclusive workplace that supports employees both personally and professionally. From childcare services to private mothers’ rooms for breastfeeding employees, the health system prioritizes inclusivity and work-life balance. NKC Health also offers a professional advancement program to help employees continue their education and grow their careers.
To develop the Best Employers by State list, Forbes worked with the market research firm Statista, who surveyed 160,000 employees across all 50 states and Washington D.C. Respondents were asked to rank how likely they were to recommend their current or past employers and companies they’ve heard of through connections.
Forbes also worked alongside Statista to survey over 140,000 women employed at companies with at least 1,000 employees to build the Best Employers for Women list. Rankings were also based on how likely they’d recommend their current or past employer, parental leave policies, work-life balance, childcare and eldercare benefits, and the organization's response to incidents of sexual misconduct and discrimination.
