November 3, 2025
NKC Health climbed two spots this year to rank No. 8 in Missouri and earned a Top 3 spot among Kansas City, Mo.-area hospitals on Newsweek’s 2026 Best-in-State Hospitals list.
“This milestone highlights our dedicated team and our united mission to empower hope and healing within our community,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO of NKC Health. “We’re proud to see our commitment to outstanding patient care and continuous improvement recognized at both the state and regional level.”
Newsweek worked with the market research firm, Statista, to build the Best-in-State Hospitals 2026 list. This year’s methodology incorporated significant updates and used quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), data from the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, findings from HCAHPS patient experience surveys and had a strong emphasis on responses from a voluntary Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) implementation survey.
This recognition follows a year of major achievements. After rebranding the health system and joining the Mayo Clinic Care Network, NKC Health earned High Performing ratings in 14 areas of care in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Regional Hospitals rankings, doubling last year’s total, and climbed to No. 10 on Forbes’ Best Employers by State list.
