Castle Connolly awards NKC Health Top Hospital honors for multiple procedures

Consumer healthcare resource Castle Connolly recognized NKC Health as a Top Hospital for four procedures and three specialties. In its second year of creating the list, the health system was recognized for the following treatments:
- Oncology
- Mastectomy
- Gastroenterology and Bariatrics
- Hernia Repair Surgery
- Colon Surgery
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
- C-section

Castle Connolly Top Hospitals was created to provide transparency and trust in healthcare and connect patients to premier providers. The list is built on its 35-year legacy of experience researching and identifying top doctors. This year, 1,663 hospitals were recognized for their excellence in performing specific, complex medical procedures.
To be recognized as a Top Hospital, institutions undergo an evaluation that uses private and public medical claims data to capture the full patient journey. Hospitals are assessed on mortality and complication rates, patient safety, failure-to-rescue rates and physician expertise, with weight given to the influence of Castle Connolly Top Doctors.
