Four NKCH Nurses Receive 'Nurse of the Year’ Recognition

Four NKCH nurses were honored at the eighth annual March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards. This year’s winners included Andrea Briggs, RN, CMSRN; Jodi Myers, RN, BSN, CAPA, RN-BC; Morgan Swearingin, MSN-Ed, RN, CCRN; and Jessica Thibault, MSN, RN, CRRN.

This recognition honors nurses from 22 disciplines who go beyond the call of duty.

“This year’s winners reflect our commitment to providing outstanding patient care and outcomes,” said Sarah Oakley, vice president and chief nursing officer. “They always put patient needs first and are an inspiration to everyone at NKCH.”

March of Dimes Nurse of the Year candidates are nominated by peers, supervisors, patients and visitors in recognition of extraordinary patient care. NKCH nurses accounted for 66 of the 800+ Kansas City-area nominations. A selection committee chooses the winners each year.
