Dr. Yocum is very thorough and personable. He has been awesome to work with.
Dr yoakam's office is always on top of everything if I called to get in they're always on the phones right there helping me guiding me they respond to my phone calls and help me to get to the end result quickly I may not always like the results but I always get the answers I need.

He knows the best way to help me with my health issues and always answers my questions and concerns immediately. I never have to wait a long period of time to get answers from him or his team! I highly recommend him as he can, and will do his best to make sure that your health needs are met!

Dr and nurse are great. 4 stars only because through this Dr I am supposed to have a referral to a Dermatologist and its been two wks without any phone calls regarding making an appt for dermatology. Once again, I'll have to track down the number and make a call. Drs offices used to do that for you. Like I said, Dr is great, and it's prob a communication referral failure.
I would recommend Dr. Yocum to anyone. He never makes me feel rushed and addresses any questions I may have.
I have been a patient of doctor yokum for almost a yr now and I have noten but good to say about his care, that’s just it he really cares about your health and not only that your well being also. That’s something hard to find in this day and all the staff are all great. Great care and atmosphere iam greatful to have this Meritis health facility for my healthcare and check it out I moved to Raytown in November and I still commute to Platte City for my appts.
He listened to what I wanted and needed which is a big deal for me so much so that I’ve walked out of past visits because the Dr was simply not listening. Yocum was great though

Dr Yocum, always great to catch up while being checked out!!! He’s not one necessarily to tell you what you want to hear, but he states fact based info. It’s up to you, to take it or leave it and, I always choose to take it. I’ve been with him for nearly 22 yrs and I recommend him to anyone looking for a Dr to visit.
First time visit with Dr. Yocum. He was very thorough and very knowledgeable. He spent time to know all the ins and outs of my history. The nursing staff was super nice, and the business part was swift with great customer service. I recommend.
Doctor will see you at appointment but will not return phone calls, patient portal messages, and will not confirm prescriptions with pharmacy (they've prompted 3x so far) which leaves you without your prescribed medications - even after having an appointment specifically for making sure the meds get refilled.

I am new to town as we were transferred for the military. I had an initial appointment at 11am today. My sitter called minutes before and stated she would not make it. I packed my toddlers in the car and walked in the office at 11:07am. The waiting room was empty. I checked in and got through half of the new patient paperwork when the front office staff called me up to tell me that “the doctor just called the front office and said he can’t see you because it’s 11:15.” I pointed out that I checked in at 11:07am, NOT 11:15am.” I was flabbergasted as there were zero patients in the office. Things happen and if that waiting room was jam packed, then I understand that 7 minutes I was late was impactful. I’m sooooo glad I found a new primary care physician after reading the reviews of Dr. Yocum. I should have done that BEFORE I set this appointment! Don’t waste your time; read the reviews. One star for a clean and suuuper empty medical office! That should speak a lot in and of itself.
I recently chose Dr. Yokum as my new general practitioner. He is both kind and professional. He knew precisely where to refer me to for my chronic pain condition. He showed concern and listened patiently while I described in detail my health concerns. His overall bedside manner is excellent. I'm glad I found him!
