Always friendly and helpful you're not kept waiting for a long time and the staff is always kind and consider it. Dr. ORR is personal and takes the time to talk to you about any concerns you may have.
We've never been so discouraged or frustrated by a doctor's appointment. Dr. Orr did not listen but rather interrupted repeatedly leaving no opportunity to share pertinent information. Her tone was condescending and simply uncalled for. We'll be seeking care elsewhere.

Very professional and kind and always listen. to what I have to say took great care of me during the storm , Thanks so much Dr. Orr, Hazel Jackson 6/3/25
I wanted to try an endocrinologist again after being on natural hormones. I had researched Dr Orr and she had great reviews. However, at my first visit I wanted to explain my 30 years of hormones and the affects as a result of different ones. I also had a lot of medical issues. She didn’t want to know anything about me. She said she had my file and that is all she needed to know. I have never felt so much like a number and not a person. She said I was lucky to get to see an endocrinologist since there are not many in KC. I would see her every 12-18 months and would see her nurse practitioner Wanda Haynes. They are both alike. You can not talk to either on the phone after tests either. You can’t get past the staff. The staff is nice.
Terrible. I can respect that she disagreed with me. My compmaint is how she treated me while disagreeing with me. I felt unheard, not understood and worst of all judged. Like I said, I am accepting she does not agree with me, but I find it gravely unprofessionally for her to do more harm by treating me in a condescending, judging and refusing to listen to me manner. One example, during my appointment with Dr. Orr, she repeatedly said my issues aren't because of hormones. She started off the appointment by saying my issues aren't hormone related. Well, a few weeks after seeing her, I saw an OBGYN and guess what, my issues, as I suspected are due to hormone issues. 2 months after seeing the OBGYN ans being on hormone treatment my systoms have severely improved. 3 months into treatment and I'm continuing to get positive results with treatment with the OBGYN. Dr. Orr is a disease focused doctor who doesn't care, and I say that seriously, about your symptoms or how you know your body. She is too focused on labs, which is terrible. I know my body and what I've been experiencing. She judged me based off my labs and took no time to actually get to know me, my symptoms and to hear me out. Dr. Orr is limited and archaic in her views of medicine. Time for her to retire.
Dr Orr is honest and no nonsense. She tells it like it is and that’s exactly why I chose her to be my Dr.
Dr Orr is a wonderful physician. She takes time to provide meaningful feedback and genuinely cares about her patients.
She was informative and had reviewed my file so she was on top of my case. I enjoyed talking with her. She made my next appointments and we have a game plan for the whole next year.
I really liked Dr. Orr. She is a kind, intelligent, no nonsence Dr. I felt relieved after discussing my health with her, where before, I was unsettled. Thank you Dr Orr.
Everyone was very pleasant and caring. Dr. Orr was so nice and compassionate, a very sweet Dr.
Dr.Orr always is caring and thorough. An excellent Physician. I highly recommend her. I am fortunate to have her as my Dr.
Great people, patience and smart!
Everyone in the office was so kind and helpful. Nataly and Dr. Orr took their time to listen to all my concerns, answered my questions and educated me on my condition. I am very pleased with the care I received
Dr. Orr is great. She explained everything to me in words I understand. She's very reassuring and made me feel at ease. She knows her business that's obvious. Dr. Orr would be a great friend.
Good experience with Dr Orr.
Dr. Orr and her staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to ensure that you have the best level of care. As a servicemember that moves often and often finds it difficult to find quality specialty care quickly for the time I am stationed at a location, the Meritas Office of Endocrinology has been fantastic! Could not recommend more!
I was very pleased with the doctor. I highly recommend her. She explained everything to me about my diagnoses and further procedures.
My visit was a routine annual checkup. Everything went smoothly. Staff and doctor very courteous. Will continue to return for visits.
Obviously the most important thing is quality of care and Dr Orr has helped me get my health issues under control. What really makes me appreciate a provider is one that is interested in me as a person as well as a patient. She is awesome. Thank you
Everything went well. I got a text from the pharmacy saying the G 7 will cost $347.00. Is there product I might be able to afford?
Three stars because I am completely torn on this rating. This was my third visit and while the first two were great… my visit this week was a shock. Anyone with a weakened immune system be WARNED!! (Unfortunately diabetics do) You will be funneled right into the urgent care to check in with all the unwell patients seeking urgent help. Then wait to be taken back for a blood draw, still within the urgent care! It’s no longer a simple finger stick to get your A1c check, they take two vials of blood just in case the doctor orders anything to be tested. I for one would much rather only have blood taken if it’s ordered NOT eh just in case. Now to why I am torn. Dr. Orr is absolutely amazing! Her actual office has always been great and super helpful. It’s taken me years to find a doctor I enjoy seeing. While I did schedule my next appointment, I’ve yet to decide if I will keep it.
Staff was on time, professional & courteous. During my visit with Dr Orr, I learned a lot about my particular health status. She took the time to make sure I understood what was going on, laid out a future plan (short & long-term), and gave me clear steps to take between now and my next visit. Knows her stuff & is a direct communicator. Absolutely LOVE this direct, data-informed approach, and looking looking forward to this Doc-Patient relationship going forward.
I truly wish I could give negative stars. She was THAT bad! I have only had one other encounter with a doctor that was worse than this. I regret not checking her reviews prior to scheduling with and seeing her. Every negative review and comment was also my experience. She was rude. She was insulting. She was mean. She was accusatory! She NEVER let me talk! She treated me like I was an idiot! She spoke down to me! She was condescending! She had absolutely no business seeing and caring for patients! She didn’t ask me a single question about any of my family history, or really anything about my own medical history. Both of which very well more than likely are important factors of why she was seeing me.
I've been a type 1 diabetic for 35 years now and have seen many a endocrinologist but I found Dr Orr a little more personal in her bedside manner, we talked about all aspects of my diabetes, blood sugars, My body, my eyes and my feet, I told her my concerns as she looked into my eyes with care and compassion, Then she started talking to me about me the person the man, as she shared her love of dogs, her husbands love of golf, I've never felt secure with me sharing myself or my health as I did with Dr Orr! So don't waste another minute and do your diabetes a favor and go see Dr Orr and her staff, you won't be disappointed, D Raines
Office staff is very friendly, accommodating and most professional. Dr. Orr is very personable and takes genuine interest in her patients and thoroughly explains any/all treatment options. Dr. Orr gives you as much time as needed to address any medical and/or treatment questions you may have. Highly recommend Dr. Orr.
Well wont be going to this doctor they cant even setup there phones for correct office times. It is currently 12:19 P.M. and the message said they close at 4:30. If they cant get that right how will I trust them with taking care of my needs.
The experience felt cold and dismissive
She was flat out the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. After waiting months to get in and hopefully get some answers she treated me like I was dumb and that I just needed to eat more calories lol. I don’t know how she’s still in practice honestly. I will not be returning.
They listen and are very supportive and helpful. The whole office is very friendly and efficient.
I was very impressed with Dr. Orr. She really understood my concerns.
I was immediately told that the Dr would be harsh. Little did I know… Background: I am a slow (low iq) 35 year old male. I was referred to her by my Primary Care Physician. I have had ED for a time. She tells me I am like men who manipulate her to get PED Drugs, the. I will have to take a Greg test and low testosterone isn’t low. I have been told by other doctors that my blood test is low but, she didn’t agree. Although the math made sense. So long story short: I was assumed to be someone committing fraud or trying to manipulate her, or I was trying to or was currently on PEDs. I’m sorry but she is really bad
Dr. Orr was very informative. Explaining things very well. Took time with our appointment. Very through, personable and professional.
The endocrinology practice & physician were wonderful. The clinic check-in process was terrible. Took a long time & was required to repeat it SAME DAY for lab work & shot after seeing the doctor.
I usually do tele visits, so this was my first in person. It was a very pleasant visit. Professionalism at its finest & very informative. Hard to decide to go back to tele visits.
Good information from Dr. Orr, very pleasant visit.
Everyone in office and Dr Orr are pleasant!
Really liked everyone there
Overall I had a very positive experience with Michelle L. Orr, M.D. and her staff.
Dr. Orr listened to my concerns, and asked questions to get additional information. She was very attentive and professional. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful.
Dr Orr takes the time to listen. And keep you on track.
Dr was very honest and forthright on what steps I need to take to make my blood sugars lower
She was very condescending and wouldn't listen to what I had to say. She made a decision about me before she even walked in the room based on my medical history and held it over my head the whole time. I didn't get any answers about what I was there for. Even after waiting 5+ months for my appointment in the first place. What a waste of time and money. I refuse to go back to a "doctor" who is so egotistical and judgemental that she assumes to know everything at a glance. After trying and failing to explain things to her I got tired of being talked over. She chased me off insisting that my unstable blood sugar levels are fine due to my age. So now I've not only had a seizure because of her refusing to help me when I needed it, but an entire slew of doctor visits since.
The staff was incredibly friendly and supportive. Dr. Orr was a wealth of knowledge and took the time to explain everything in a way I could understand
The first visit was great. Dr Orr spent plenty of time with me discussing my concerns/questions. She gave some great advice as well. The only reason I didn’t give her 5 stars is because my follow up appointment has been scheduled with her nurse practitioner. Nothing against a nurse practitioner however I thought I was going to a “Doctors” office.
Dr. Orr is very kind, professional and thorough. Would recommend her to family and friends.
I have way too many doctors. Dr. Orr is one of my two favorites.
I have been seeing Dr. Orr for about 2 years. She and the NP have helped me get my thyroid medication worked out. She has always been friendly and answered my questions in the manner in which I could understand. Would recommend her to others
Very knowledgeable, Dr Orr took the time to explain and help me understand the in’s and out’s of diabetes
Very Professional and on target as to my questions and blood draws. I would really Recommend her to anyone having thyroid troubles and or diabetes.
Dr. Orr was great!!
I was impressed with Dr. Orr and appreciated her straightforward approach. I do like it when someone says what they mean and explains their reasoning.
Dr Orr sees my wife Diana. She's great! Always takes her time and provides great care. Northland is blessed to have he in our area!!
Very pleasant and efficient
She took good care to explain things and went out of her way to accommodate me.
I saw Michelle Orr yesterday. It was a pleasant experience. Michelle is up to date on my Diabetes and encourages me to do the right things. She has me heading in the right direction and answers all my questions. I am very fortunate to have been placed in her care. Her staff is also great.
I did not care for Dr.Orrs unsolicited advice / opinions. She doesn’t know me or my medical history to tell me what I should or should not be doing. It’s obvious her physical health hasn’t been a focus in her life. She would be better served to change her approach and save her opinions for the patients that ask for it!
Love, love, love Dr. Orr! She is very personable and is there for you. She does not rush your appointment, and wants to answer any questions you have for her. I'm glad I found her.
I was very impressed with Dr. Orr's professionalism and knowedge. She listened to my concerns and offered possible solutions. We discussed my medications and she upgraded them to a better fit for my current situation. I would recomend her to anyone suffering from diabetes.
Been trying to schedule an appointment for my wife for the past two weeks and have not received a call back. We will most likely ask our PCM for a referral to a different endocrinologist if we do not hear back.
For my first time seeing her she was very nice and explained everything to me. Told me step by step what she was doing. I recommend her highly.
Dr. Orr is a wonderful doctor. Highly recommend her.
Everything was good when I came into the office the ladies at the desk really nice got me checked in quickly. And Dr Orr was very nice she explained to me exactly what I needed to do was very thoughtful courteous and I left I had everything I needed to know about what I should do with my medication. Thank you Dr Orr
Always a great experience when I have an appointment with Dr. Orr. She is so personable and takes her time when visiting with me.
Staff is great. I have been a patient for several years. Dr. Orr always takes time to explain everything and answer questions. She has excellent patient rapport. I value her advice very much.
The staff at the office were fabulous! Dr. Orr was, kind and polite and informative. Thank you to everyone.
Dr. Orr was incredibly patient and courteous. She took the extra time to explain certain results and tests. I would highly recommend her.
Very good Doctor, listened to my concerns and adjusted my medicine accordingly. Always pleasant and talks in a way you can understand everything. I would recommend her for a endocrinologist to anyone
My appt is terrific. Dr. Orr took time to discuss non-prescription options and risks/benefits. I appreciate a doctor that will consider dietary nutrition in my health plan.
Dr. Orr was wonderful - no seriously!! She was professional yet very nice and made me feel like I mattered.
Dr Orr was fantastic- friendly, professional, responsive to questions, and very informative.
Dr. Orr is patient, kind, respectful, and professional. She is one of my favorite doctors!
As a new patient I (Deborah) was very observant of the overall office practice. Staff were friendly, helpful, efficient and informative. Dr. Orr exceeded my expectations. She outlined her knowledge of my history, answered questions particularly relating to appropriate thyroid level. Since my thyroid, parathyroid and lymph node surgery in 2011 as a result of cancer diagnosis I have never felt so well informed as i now am.
They move you thru fast (in a good way), but they never lose the personal touch. Their people skills are excellent, and you never feel rushed.
I loved Dr. Orr! She was so kind and explained everything so well. She made me feel cared for and took her time. She did not hurry me at all and listened so well.
Dr. Orr is one of my favorite doctors. Very personable and thorough. I thank her for diagnosing my thyroid cancer very promptly.
It was horrible. I only saw her once and will never go back. If your not happy with your profession, find another job. She's mean and not a good listener. Think she knows it all and it's just in your head. You are dealing with a person who is untouchable, doesn't care about your view point. Doesn't take you seriously of your concerns or decisions.
I have gone to Dr Orr for several years. I liked her and had never had any problems with her. Last year a big Endocrinologist group closed. She took on a lot of new patients. I get to my appointment and am told I am seeing the nurse practitioner. I didn't know she even had one. I did not receive a call informing me of this even though they claim they called. Dr Orr always does a sonogram of my thyroid when I visit. The nurse practitioner couldn't do this. I was not happy with seeing the nurse practitioner and let it be known. They squeezed me in to see Dr Orr that afternoon. When I get there she does my sonogram and then informs me from now on I am to see the nurse practitioner unless I have a serious problem! I DON'T THINK SO! There are plenty of DOCTORS to pick from out there! So needless to say she is no longer my doctor!
No waiting, friendly staff, efficient. Dr. Orr was extremely helpful answering all of my questions. She made me feel hopeful with my new chronic condition. I look forward to working with her in my quest for better health.
She’s amazing. Very detailed and patient.
I cancelled the appt.. l was trying to point out that I had cancelled but your system did not recognize that. I only did the star because the system did not allow me to commit without a star rating.
Good doctor
Dr.Orr has given me a new approach to handling sugar diabetes. She was wonderful!!!
Easy on line check in provided in advance allows for a short time with the kind receptionist. Very quick to be called to meet with Dr. Orr whom has a manner that should please anyone. She had precise knowledge of the condition causing the visit and open to any questions/concerns related to the treatment, it's length and possible side effects. I was far more educated and at ease after our meeting and look forward to the end results.
Very pleasant visit. Detailed explanation of what was being checked and why. The entire staff was friendly and helpful.
Everyone is so friendly- from start to finish. Always a pleasure so see everyone, even if it’s only once per year:)
Dr. Orr spent time with me, was pleasant. And very thorough.
Did not have to wait long--visit was personal and comprehensive.
Professional
Had a lovely experience with Dr. Orr. She is very kind and attentive and makes sure all your questions are answered. Will definitely be seeing this office regularly.
Dr Orr is very thorough and listened to all my questions and answered each one of them in a way I could easily understand. Having a diabetes 2 diagnosis causes many questions to be asked. I really liked her mannerisms and would highly recommend her to others.
This was one of the worst doctors I’ve ever been to. She talked down to me all the time and asked me why I was there and was very condescending. I will not be returning to her, and if anyone ask me about her, I will share my feelings openly. She kept saying well I can treat you for that I can give you $10,000 worth of bloodwork but I don’t think you want me to and she said well I could do your hormone labs but we know what is gonna come out as because you have a hysterectomy, she was absolutely horrible I almost walked out of the appointment !! She is definitely a detriment to her profession!
Dr. Orr takes the time to talk you through your current medical state, recommendations, and what to expect. She takes the time to answer questions. She is very personable and I value her as a medical provider who cares about her patients and helping provide the best possible medical outcomes for each.
Dr Orr was fantastic and took time to answer all my questions. Really appreciated the time she spent with me.
False claims on their page they don’t accept Medicaid and offer no help finding a doctor that does
First time there went great. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Trying to get someone to answer the phone is a NIGHTMARE. I got a missed call from them since I was at work I called them 12 times and every time the automated machine said they're transferring me to a representative I would get transferred the phone would ring 2 times and automatic hang up. Phone system needs to be changed.
She was condescending questioned my diagnosis because of my weight and blew me off on hormonal questions saying it was in my head. I’ll be finding a different dr.
Doctor was very professional answering my questions about my health issues and my concerns. I'm very satisfied with this doctor.
Dr Orr made me feel extremely comfortable and took time to explain everything to me. She listened to my questions and concerns.
Dr. Orr is very professional and knowledgeable. Couldn’t be happier with her assessment.
I was very nervous at first, but she really does make you feel comfortable about what you are dealing with. She gives real life examples and articulates statistics and studies well, that are helpful in explaining to others what you are going though. I am happy that I was able to start seeing her.
Very professional but also very caring and asked all the right questions.
She was super nice. Very detailed, and was talking with my family also.
Dr. Orr was very interactive with me. She gave me lots of good information and explained everything very clearly. I appreciated the time she gave me and didn't feel rushed to move on. I look forward to working with her more on my treatment
After 18 years of diabetes and all the doctors I have seen I’ve never left an appointment feeling like I was seen or cared for like a person until YESTERDAY! My mind was blown! First impression was the nurse and I though ok she’s pretty darn awesome. Next was my visit with Dr. Orr, she took her time to get to know my story…. She answered every question and for once I found myself not wanting to run out the door. I am so grateful to have found her and I am not dreading my next visit in three months. <3 thank you Dr.Orr
I met with Dr Orr regarding a nodule on my adrenal gland. She was easy to talk with and scheduled the appropriate tests to make sure it is working properly. Her staff were all pleasant and helpful. I feel like I'm in good hands.
She is the most rude, arrogant, negligent and hateful doctor ever. Seriously. 11 days ICU due to her mistake. The positive reviews are her from her friends. She's AWFUL. Makes her patients cry.
Dr. Orr took the time to explain all my test results and answered all questions that I had. She took her time and did not rush me at all.
Have just started care with Dr. Orr and I couldn't be more impressed with the professionalism and level of care as well as informative. Thank you so much for working with me!
First, it took over half an hour AFTER my appointment time to even be called back. Felt admonished when she told me my A1C (even though i explained it would be high off my meds since it's been 6 months.) Also tried to explain i have underlying health issues (i.e. extreme pain from a possible back condition) that she didn't care to even let me explain. Cut me off when i tried to tell her about it. Then asked me what meds i used to be on for diabetes, told her i could look them up on my phone to give her exact names. Became short with me when i couldn't produce the names off the top of my head. I literally work nights, woke up just to come to this appointment. After all that at the very end she had to point out how my weight is something i need to actively control and that my eating habits are poor (even though she never asked what i normally eat or my caloric intake) then told me walking 3-4 miles a day at my job is considered "normal". Basically eat less, exercise "more".
Dr. Michelle Orr is a kind, knowledgeable, and thorough medical professional who truly cares about her patients. I have been her patient for several years and have never had any complaints with the care I have received.
I just had my first appointment with Dr. Orr. Dr. Orr is an extremely thorough Dr. I would highly recommend her. Very personable, explains and answers all of your questions.
Dr. Orr was amazing! She answered so many questions, I didn’t even know I had! She took time to make me feel important. So important these days.
Great Dr. Enjoyed talking to her
My primary retired & told me to find a New primary & also an Endochrinologist because my lab kidney values were off. I found a website & read 2 bad reviews about Dr Orr but I also MET two people who had used her & they had no major complaints. Described her as a “Drill Sargent”. Because Covid had just begun & a vaccine was not yet readily available I wanted to avoid Endos working from a hospital office. I Went to her with something minor. But she ignored it &jumped on my type 2 diabetes condition that was NOT the problem & WAS in control. She did/will prescribe the most expensive meds &treatment available whether it’s suitable or not. Ended up with complications from med she prescribed. 5&6A1C’s leaped to 7+. End =massive blood clot=2 emergency room visits & many drs: dermatologist & the following drs/All based in hosp offices=cardiologist/nephrologist/veinologist/vascular specialist & a different endo. Skip this Dr &use her nurse practitioner instead who seems pretty capable.
Very pleased with Dr. Orr. She took her time with me. She thoroughly answered my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Orr
Had an excellent experience. Staff was up and above other experiences with other offices. Dr. Was special and we look forward to working together for years to come Lord willing. Thank you for the time we shared together. Robert Aebi .
The staff was very friendly. Got right in. Dr Orr was very friendly. She seemed very knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and she gave me more information than any endocrinologist I've seen in the past.
Very knowledgeable and has my best interest at heart
Fairly recently, I had my first appointment with Dr. Orr. After seeing some of the reviews on here, I was a bit wary of how my meeting would be. I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Orr and her careful evaluation of my ongoing diabetes management. She took extra time to walk through various trends seen in my blood sugar, and explain issues with my ongoing treatment regimen. It’s been a long time since anybody has taken the time to review such information with me in depth. Additionally, while I am no expert at managing my own care, I do think of myself as motivated. Dr. Orr was able to offer feedback in a professional and appropriate manner, while recognizing the strengths of what I have done right (without the harsh critiques that can be so common in management of chronic illness). I wanted to leave a positive review, after seeing some of the others on here. Of course, everybody has their own experiences, but I felt it was worth reporting a positive one! Thank you Dr. Orr!
Dr. Orr's attention to my situation, good listening skills, and coordinated steps going forward made my experience, along with my wife who was present, an excellent one. Thank you, Dr. Orr.
Prompt, courteous and professional. Very knowledgeable, spends a lot of time explaining everything. She makes sure that all of your questions answered.
Met for first visit did a great job of explaining.
My PCP sent me to Dr. Orr, and I can honestly say that I will not be returning. I felt like I had to fight to be heard, I was talked over and I was dismissed. At no point was my history or family history asked. I was told that my problem was that I was eating too much, and "Because I am short, I should only eat 800 calories a day." I have a biology degree and know what balanced meals look like. It took some arguing for them to agree to run just basic blood test. I will make sure to tell everyone about this interaction, so that they know to avoid her.
Always a pleasure, very personable and easy to talk to. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Finally someone who unders diabetes. I’ve had diabetes for 22 years and dr. Orr explained how diabetes works and how to control it with novolog. Fantastic. The front desk was very welcoming.
Was very happy with Dr. Orr. Wasn't rushed, answered all my questions, very personable. I feel very confident in her care.
Dr. Orr's staff are all very pleasant and welcoming. Dr. Orr is wonderful, she explains things so you understand in laymen's terms.
Dr Orr was very kind and took the time to explain to me my new diagnosis and the plan
Because of the negative reviews here, I was concerned about making an appointment with Dr. Orr. My endocrinologist was retiring and I needed to find another doctor. I contacted other endocrinologists' office but they were 4 – 6 months out in appointments. Dr. Orr is part of the health group of my PCP which helped in getting an earlier appointment. I felt I should give it a go. I came to my appointment prepared but also expecting an intimidating encounter. I found Dr. Orr engaging, knowledgeable, informative, and spot on in her assessment of my situation. I truly liked her. Recently I was talking to a nurse about the situation in selecting Dr Orr. She said, because of the nature of their specialty, they are not always the most popular of doctors. Maybe that is the situation here concerning the reviews or maybe not. My mother and daughter had also been to see her and were happy with her care. I wouldn’t let the reviews here stop you. Meet her and come to your own conclusion.
This was my 1st visit with Dr. Orr after my current Endo closed their practice. I have had quite a few Dr's over the years and I have some pretty high standards that my Dr's need to meet. I was a bit taken aback by some of these reviews and a very leery of what to expect. BUT, I found Dr. Orr to be direct and to the point about my diabetes care. She listened to everything I had to say about my current medications and how they affect me and was very concise and clear about what she thought. She answered all of my questions very directly and without any bias or arrogance. For me, this is exactly the type of Dr. I appreciate and need. If you are looking for a Dr. who's only going to tell you what you want to hear, this isn't the Dr. you are looking for. If you are looking for a partner in your healthcare needs who tells it like it is, I highly recommend Dr. Orr.
When I visited her several years ago she called me a liar. I would never go back. I am in need of a new doctor because mine is retiring and she is not one I will consider. Also my adult daughter ended up in the hospital because she gave her medicine for a type two diabetic without testing her for type one. Turns out she was type one.
I’ve only seen her a couple of times and find her dismissive and negative and eager to leave the room. Her nurse Ms. James really does all the work. Dr. Orr is lazy and doesn’t care.
Dr. Orr takes a serious approach to my healthcare. Has helped me tremendously with diabetes care. She is the best.
Its sad to see all these negative reviews. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 24 years now and seen my fair share of not so good Endocrinologist providers. Dr. Orr was great!
0 is a more fitting star! She is so rude and claimed all my symptoms had nothing to do with my issue. Bedside manor is horrendous! I wish I would have read these reviews before seeing her and I will never go back! Getting a second opinion, worst experience ever! Do yourself a favor and find a different provider no clue how she made it through med school and has been practicing this long!
I have seen Dr. Orr twice and each time she has denied my symptoms are related to the disease I have! On my first visit she told me "you don't want Cushing's Disease, you could become infertile" as well as denied every symptom I had and said it was all just depression and over eating. Further test results got me seen by a neurosurgeon who told me that becoming infertile isn't a risk for the surgery I required. Upon my second visit with Dr.Orr, post operative, she still denied my symptoms and bragged about missing a Cushing's diagnosis on a previous paitent. Poor manners and even pooerer care. Will not be returning.
She is rude, sarcastic and incompetent. She likes to barge in one breath that she’s board certified and then say that the thyroid has nothing to do with metabolism. She does not listen to patients, ignores symptoms, and has the worst bedside manner of any physician I’ve ever seen. How she stays in practice is beyond me. How she maintains a relationship with the Meritas system is also beyond me. How she is not censured or not under suspension is beyond me.
Dr. Orr is a highly qualified doctor in both endocrinology and diabetes specialties. She tells it like it is. She is a confident doctor in the fields of her expertise.
Poor customer service. I never received a copy of lab test results and it took a week just to speak to a nurse over the phone to follow up. I never received any further follow up information after my second lab test and still no response. Poor communication and lack of attention. I would not recommend this practice if you are paying for service out of pocket.
Do not go to her, you will be aggravated and treated poorly. She was in the room 10 mins did nothing to review my primary physicians reasons for me taking the meds I am taking. She disregarded my treatment plan, did nothing to warrant 330 dollar bill. When I called to talk to them as to why a bill for that amount was being given for literally no treatment the office staff was rude. My insurance company even tried to call and talk to them and they were rude with the representative. Overall worst experience I have ever had with a physician of any kind.
I was referred to Dr. Orr from a Urologist. I was highly disappointed in Dr. Orr’s approach to diagnosing me. She lacks bedside manner and was not personable at all. She quickly suggested a test that was extremely expensive and came back clean. In the year since visiting Dr. Orr I have been seen by another doctor and gotten a diagnosis. This has only made it more clear just how useless her suggested testing was. To say I was displeased with Dr. Orr’s approach to my care is an understatement.
Dr. Orr did not show up to the office until 9:00 and my appointment was at 8:30. She seemed dismissive of my experience and feelings and told me I was probably misinterpreting information when I brought up concerns. She interrupted me several times and made a lot of assumptions. She does not feel like a very empathetic doctor. I was very persistent with questions and asking for clarification so I was able to learn a few things, but won't be coming back.
Dr. Orr's office was able to get me an appointment same day. She always spends time discussing my health and is very personable and friendly.
If I could leave zero stars I would. First off my appointment was for 8:15 and she didn’t even show up the the building (per a nurse) until after 9am. I was the first patient. She comes in and starts blaming everything on my weight, my ms (of which she clearly knew nothing about!), and my medications. Mostly my weight though. She basically told me I needed to eat less, vigorous exercise, and to join weight watchers (of which she put a lot of emphasis). Like do they pay her to push it on people?! She also, implied heavily that I didn’t “know” myself, as far as my weight and where I have issues, etc. she also said she’d do some tests but really didn’t think it’d show anything and then I’d be back to my neuro (who isn’t even who sent me to her)! Let me just say I know full well I’m overweight and I know where my weaknesses are. Exercise (even gentle) is extremely hard for me because of MS. Walking is my best bet. If anything shows in tests I’ll be taking those results elsewhere!
I would highly recommend Dr. Orr to anyone. Her staff was friendly and helpful each time I visited. Her nurse was exceptional as well. Dr. Orr took her time answering all of my questions, and she also explained things clearly.
I have been a patient of Dr. Orr's for over ten years. She has an excellent understanding of diabetes treatment, and by following her advice I consistently have an a1c of less than 7. As I have aged and retired, she has helped me manage the expenses of prescription coverage. She conducts thorough exams, and patiently answers questions. Janet James, her ARNP, is likewise thorough and patient. If you want long-term success managing your diabetes, Dr Orr is a winner!
I went for endocrine issues related to a brain tumor but she never talked about that at my visits. Very little lab work done for brain tumor issues. But I had a 5.7 A1C (low range of pre-diabetes) and she wanted me on meds, sticking my finger daily, and talking about insulin. Her office is plastered full of advertisements for diabetes medication. Never produced lab work from last visit and I don't think she ever saw them. I got out fast. If you have endocrine issues than diabetes, go elsewhere
I would highly recommend Dr. Orr to anyone. Her staff was friendly and helpful each time I visited. Her nurse was exceptional as well. Dr. Orr took her time answering all of my questions, and soothed my nerves with her kind demeanor. She also explained things clearly. I was worked in the very next day for a procedure, and I assumed would have a long wait for that reason. I was wrong--I was taken back in less than 15 minutes. I was very impressed!
I am not one to review doctors, but my experience with Dr. Orr was so horrific that it seemed like the ethical thing to do. During my appointment, she told me that her staff had been speaking negatively about me. She inaccurately reported my medical history to me. She compared me to other, worse patients, in an attempt to discredit my concern about my symptoms. In the same breath she told me both that she told me both that my issue was not serious, yet suggested surgery as the next step.
March 14 2018 Dr Michelle Orr is an excellent Dr whose main priority is making sure her patients receive the best care. She has a great staff that offers professionalism and sincerity. I have recommended my family and friends to Dr Orr. We’re very pleased with the care and treatment. Thank You so much Dr Orr for your kindness, excellent care and service provided.
We started off a bit rocky, but I can not thank Dr. Orr and Ms. Janet for helping me come so far in just 3 months. Thank you for saving my life! :)
I've seen Dr Orr for 14 years for my hyperthyroid. The last 4 years I've started asking questions about my thyroid (will I be on meds forever, what is the long term goal). Dr Orr never fully answered. I finally saw a new dr in Overland Park. In 30 mins, he answered more questions than Dr Orr ever did. He basically told me it was not recommended to be on meds for 14 years with no long term goal. I will be continuing with new dr & his recommendations. Dr Orr is kind - but don't recommend her.
My son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and we were referred to go see Dr. Orr. He has been treated exceptionally well by her and all her staff in his visits and they have been very helpful in teaching him about his new lifestyle and diet in a caring, informative, positive way. We are very pleased.
I have been seeing Dr Orr for years for a pituitary issue. I have been on the medicine prescribed by her for at least 3 years. My prescription expired about the time my insurance was cancelled due to getting laid off from work. When I called to see if I could get one prescription for a couple of weeks to a month, until my new insurance was in effect she refused. Her nurse sited legal liability because I had not been into to see her for a year. Here money is more important than patient care.
Cannot recommend this doctor whatsoever except to beware and keep away.
I liked seeing Dr Orr and she was professional and very helpful. Her scheduling/staff up front has not been the easiest to work with. I’ve been asked to reschedule my appointment 2 out of 3 times in a year and each time they are unable reschedule my appointment until 4-6 weeks later. I would understand if I had cancelled the appointments myself but as a provider canceling your patients, the scheduling should be more accommodating. I’ll be seeking care with another provider.
I went to Dr. Orr back in November after a 6 week wait, only to receive any help. Was diagnosed with Hashimotos and went to her as a referral from my primary care. She told me thyroid problems don't make weight gain and told me just to decrease my caloric intake by 500cals/day without even asking me how much I ate in the first place. Very rude and offered no help. Almost cried at one point during the appointment. Will be switching endocrinologists for my next appointment.
I have been a patient of Dr. Orr's since 2006. I was referred to her when my PCP decided that he could no longer help me manage my Type 2 diabetes. She has a very direct style, and she is outstanding at helping me manage medications so that I can more effectively manage the issues that come with diabetes. In recent years she has added a nurse-specialist, Janet, to her practice; Janet is skilled, knowledgeable and works easily with patients who need additional help. Thanks Dr. Orr!
I have to say Dr. Orr was the worst doctor I have ever encountered in my life. Arrogant and rude does not begin to describe her. She refused to listen to my symptoms. Told me my disease wasn't really. Told me I would be fat the rest of my life and be her next diabete patient. My new doc figured out I have an autoimmune disease on top of thyroid disease, HS, & PCOS. I'm now on the right medication & feel amazing. Dr. Allenbrand is a sweet & intelligent doctor. Go see him.
She was very arrogant and very rude. I agree if I could leave a zero star rating I would. I only got to see her once or twice. All other times it was her nurse practitioner who was equally rude. By the end of my last appointment she had me in tears. I was trying to tell her my particular situation but she would not listen. I have now found out (with a new doctor) she was not checking my thyroid for 2 years to see if the thyroid cancer had come back and guess what - it has. Bad Situation
Dr. Orr knows what she is talking about, wants to help you, and is very personable. Staff is friendly and professional.
If I could give 0 stars I would. She based medical advice on two year old blood work. I demanded updated labs, and she refused to run some of the tests. She contradicts herself in a single breath. Please go elsewhere, where the doctor knows what they're talking about!
When her partner, in the office where she used to practice, passed away, my case was transfer to her. I, was of course notified, and I decided to go for a trial visit. If I liked her, I would continue, if not; however, I would go to someone else. I liked her, and I have agreed with everything she has recommended. I have a background of working in the medical field for 22yrs at various different medical facilities, and/or, hospitals. Therefore, I have worked with all types of personalities.
Dr. Orr knew a lot about thyroid, and she made sure I knew how smart she was. What she never once asked, or cared when I brought it up, was how I was feeling. She also did not effectively explain thyroid issues to me. It was more like she was showing off. She also continually said how she didn't THINK that the nodule on my thyroid is anything. I waited 40 minutes to see her, after getting called back 10 minutes before my appointment time, and she spent 10 minutes with me.
One of the most unhelpful doctors. Offensive to my sister who is suffering from an autoimmune disease offering no options for her symptoms and condescending her fatigue while making comments on how her appearance isn't up to par with other patients who have the same disease... If I could give her zero stars I would.
