About Me
Biography
I originally grew up in California and came to Kansas City in 2005 to obtain my doctorate at KU. While attending KU, I was a graduate teaching assistant and taught the course on audiologic assessment and rehabilitation throughout my entire time at the university. I was also extended the honor of assisting with the Audiology Clinic at Schiefelbusch for a semester's term. The final years of my educational career were spent examining ways to increase response amplitude in cases of sensorineural hearing loss via electrophysiologic measures in hopes of having a better means of accurately diagnosing hearing loss. I completed her doctoral degree in 2010.
When not at work, my husband and I like to spend time with their “furry” children. I enjoy learning new languages, traveling, playing piano and watching movies.

I believe in a patient-centered approach, including a rigorous process of professional diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
Area of Interest
I have a special training in the assessment and treatment of tinnitus (ringing), as well as the assessment of vestibular (dizziness) disorders. My other clinical interests include aural rehabilitation, hearing healthcare advocacy, education of better communication techniques and digital amplification. In addition to my board certification with the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association, I hold certifications in tinnitus and hyperacusis from the University of Iowa and in vestibular and equilibrium from the American Institute of Balance.
