I had problems with Tachycardia in my 30's. Dr. Rigdon was able to fix my problem and was symptom free for over 20 years. Now I am in my 50's and my Tachycardia is back. I am having him fix it again. He ia a fantastic doctor!! 5 stars seems to low!!! 10 stars!!

Dr. Rigden has been a breath of fresh air. He took the time to walk through my EKG and what everything meant. He also explained I do not need to be on the medicine the previous doctor prescribed. These days I think when a doctor tells you to STOP taking a pill that is a good sign. The previous doctor just increased the dosage when I told him my heart was doing something different.
Dr Rigden seemed to me to be a person who genuinely cares about his patients. He was ithoughtful, caring and willing to listen when I met with him. He was careful th put my worst fears at ease, but didn’t make me feel foolish about being concerned. I had been alerted to an A-fib sequence in my heart rhythm and since I had recently had a friend die because of this it concerned me. He will now be my permanent cardiologist because of his thoughtfulness and the manner that he explained my particular situation. If you need a cardiologist I would highly recommend him.

My blood pressure was running a little high so I went to see Dr. Rigden. They did some tests and want me to record my blood pressure daily for awhile. First time to meet Dr. Rigden and I like him, he’s very nice, he communicates and gets things across well. He’s been doing this for awhile, I like that too about him.

Dr. Rigden's nurse was great and could not speak highly enough about Dr. Rigden and once he entered the exam room I understood why. He wanted to know all about why I was there, listened intently and gave me a thorough explanation about what he thought would be the best course of action and why. Dr. Rigden is warm and personable. Dr. Rigden met with me pre-op where he reiterated he would only be replacing a defibrillator lead (just as my cardiologist had said). Dr. Rigden didn’t put me under and instead I was awake during the procedure and he ended up replacing my entire defibrillator and had no reason or rationale that he could give me (except I believe he got more money by doing that). During surgery, my anesthesia kept wearing off, and he would tell me it wasn’t and I was just feeling pressure and not pain. I’ve had four csections so I do know the difference between sharp vs pressure pain. On top of not putting me under, I was allergic to the anesthesia and was itching like crazy. He told me to stop moving and didn’t even consider I was allergic. I spent over two hours in a surgical room (outpatient) where he didn’t manage my pain during the procedure, in post op or in the hospital. I ended up staying the night, he refused to give me any pain medicine or send me home with any. He said my pain was “slight discomfort” and Tylenol was fine. He had tried to cut a lead out of my chest, chipped away at it, was unsuccessful, then replaced a defibrillator that was good for another 5 years. I’m 50 years old. He cut through muscle tissue and cut into my chest. The pain was unbearable. He refused to manage my pain. He put in a new defibrillator after he told me he wasn’t. He didn’t put me under and made me endure almost three hours of cutting and chipping away at tissue around my heart then told me I should only have mild discomfort. It was an extremely traumatic experience. I had my original defibrillator placed at St Luke’s and I didn’t experience this at all. His lack of patient care, managing pain, and likely attempting to claim more money by doing a procedure that didn’t need to be done, is unacceptable. It is my understanding that there have been many complaints in regards to his patient care. I now have to pay for an overnight stay and deductible due to his lack of concern. I had to leave the hospital with no pain meds. My primary care doctor had to call some in and in the meantime I was in so much pain. I had to take more days off work to recover due to the physical trauma to my body. He doesn’t care or listen to his patients. Do NOT have a procedure by this man if you have a choice. Ask for another surgeon or pick St Luke’s downtown. No one should go through what I endured.

A very good experience. Dr. Rigden discussed every aspect of my calcium report and heart implications. He was asking questions and taking notes throughout the appointment. He validated the two new prescriptions I was given. He told me the next appointment and "stress test" is appropriate for my heart condition, and said he would call me with the results. There were times when he explained in detail situations surrounding my circumstances.

I went to see Dr Rigden today. I was leary bc a nurse that had worked with him @ the hospital said he was brilliant but not very friendly.....she must have caught him on bad days bc to me he was WONDERFUL! He went over everything with me and made everything very clear. Has some testing scheduled for me and said he would call me personally to go over the results. Not too many Dr's take the time to do that. I couldn't be happier with Dr Rigden and his bedside manner is great. I went in very nervous and he put my nerves at ease immediately. Thank you Dr Rigden for making me happy that you are my Cardiologist....and I'll be sure to let the nurse who told me negative things about you....how wrong she was.
Superb! When my husband was in the hospital with an unknown condition he developed atrial flutter. Dr. Rigden came to his room within the hour after having an EKG and explained what was happening. They decided to try medication to try to get the heart back into rhythm. Two days later Dr. Rigden and his nurse literally rolled him into the lab to do the procedure to shock his heart into rhythm. Fast forward 3 months to the follow up appt., Dr. Rigden sent my husband for a stress test and found he had some abnormalities so he scheduled him for a heart cath. He actually called my husband that night to give him the diagnosis himself! Talk about bedside manners!! The next night I ended up taking my husband to the ER due to chest pressure and on Sunday morning Dr. Rigden was at my husband's bedside at 6:00AM! Due to Dr. Rigden being pro-active and diligent my husband will be healthy for the rest of his life! We can't thank Dr. R enough and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND him for anyone!
My husband saw him after referral from his PCP for possible congestive heart failure. Dr. Rigden was thorough, listening, and informative. He ordered tests and told us he would personally call him with results.

I am impressed with his promptness in keeping the appointment; his patience in explaining the cardiac problem and treatment plan and his willingness to answer all my questions. He is friendly, helpful and has a caring staff. I trust his store of knowledge and his methodical approach to remedies. He even returned my call on a Saturday.
