Ishrat Gillani, MD

My connection to NKC Health began early in my medical journey, when I volunteered at NKC Hospital during high school. That experience gave me an early appreciation for the people and community NKC serves and became a meaningful part of my journey in medicine. Coming back to NKC Health as a physician feels very special to me. I am grateful for the opportunity to care for patients in a community that has been part of my own journey and to give back in a different way. I look forward to getting to know my patients, building lasting relationships, and being a part of their health journey.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with my family.

Care Philosophy

My approach to patient care starts with listening. I believe it is important to understand each patient’s concerns, goals, and experiences, and to make sure they feel heard and understood. I also believe patients should understand not only their diagnosis, but the underlying reasons for their condition and why a particular treatment is recommended.

I strive to partner with each patient to develop a treatment plan that is personalized to their needs, goals, and lifestyle. I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in making decisions about their health. My goal is to build trusting, long-term relationships with my patients and help them feel supported and empowered throughout their care.

Areas of Interest

My clinical interests include diabetes management, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders and pituitary disorders. I enjoy helping patients navigate both common and complex endocrine conditions through education, shared decision-making and individualized care.
