About Me

Outside of work, I love to play music, garden, and exercise. I enjoy fishing and maintain both a saltwater and freshwater aquarium. My partner and I have a bernedoodle and enjoy spending time outside with him. 

Care Philosophy

Medicine can be a very scary and difficult thing for people to navigate. I partner with my patients and treat them like I would want someone to treat my family, allowing for a strong physician-patient relationship and someone my patients can rely on when things get tough. 

Area of Interest

My favorite part of my job is partnering with my patients to improve their health and wellbeing. Whether they need someone to help them with simple issues or more complex decision making, I enjoy being a part of my patient's life and help them meet their own goals.

My areas of interest include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, weight management, mental health, men's health, asthma, COPD, geriatric medicine, transition to adult healthcare from pediatrics, and young adult health. I also have a keen interest in screenings for cancers and other health conditions.

This is my first time meeting Dr. Owens and I couldn’t have been happier. My mother sees him and also my husband. He is kind and very personable. He has a great bedside manner and really takes his time to get to know me. Choosing him as my new doctor was a great decision.

I was very impressed with my first visit. I was very comfortable talking with him and listening to his recommendations. He was not rushed and was very thorough. Hopefully he will stay with this practice for a long time. I feel he will be a great partner in my health care journey.

I went for my annual visit with Dr Owens and he was very friendly as we met for the first time. He sat down to discuss my issues which was very nice b/c I felt like he was interested enough to take time discussing my health issues. He had obviously read my chart and knew about my history as I’d been a patient with a Dr who recently retired at this office for several years so he had access to my chart. He took time to talk with me and let me be involved in my POC. He answered my questions and told me his plans to order lab work so he’d have an idea of how my general health is at this time. He wants to see me in 6 months and will let me know if we need to discuss any plans before my 6 month visit. I’m going to refer him to my youngest son and my husband sees him next month. I was very happy with my visit!

He has a great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. I thought he was very thorough and did not rush thru our visit. I felt he had my best interest at heart. It’s always scary when you get a new doctor ,but I think he is going to be a good fit for me.

Dr Owens is personable, caring and listens to my questions and concerns. My first visit with him set the pace for my future care. He provided alternative options to deal with diabetes, this pleases me.

I was hesitant seeing a male doctor after my previous female doctor left. Dr. Owens was fantastic! Good listener and helped me make medicine adjustments. He took his time with me. He is a keeper!

I would not recommend Dr. Owen’s based on my experience. During my visit, I found his manner to be arrogant and condescending, and I felt dismissed rather than listened to. His tone and attitude made me uncomfortable and I left the appointment feeling disrespected. I hope he takes this feedback seriously and works on improving how he communicates with patients.
