Very good experience with Dr. Acosta appointment went well. But the wait to have blood drawn at Quest was very long. Waiting for the Nurse to come and get me and get me was also long. I really like Dr. Acosta been seeing Her since December of 2003.

The shame of it is that Dr Acosta is fantastic - it is her office and staff that are a complete mess. She was one of the most thorough and caring doctors I had ever seen in my life - only problem was messages would get confused and sometimes never even conveyed to her by them. There was a HUGE mix up when I left the practice at the end that caused me a lot of pain and problems mostly due to extreme lack of communication from her staff - not the doctor herself. If she ever is at a different location, I would love to be in her care again. She, herself is amazing. It is extremely unfortunate that she doesn’t have the staff at Meritas to back her up.

First point of contact, receptionist, waited less than 5 minutes greeted with professionalism. Next was Dr Antonette C.Acosta-Dickson, Nurse Assistant, she was very kind and patient, she took my vitals, she asked medical questions about my medications and any new information she could update on the lap top. The nurse concluded by letting me know Dr. Acosta-Dickinson would be with me shortly. Dr. Acosta-Dickinson always enters the room with a warm welcoming and a great smile that makes me feel comfortable. I feel I can talk to her on my medical issues without feeling embarrassed. I talked about why I was visiting her on May 2, 2024. Dr. Acosta- Dickinson asked me some questions and called her nurse back to the room as she did an examination. Dr. Acosta-Dickinson told me she was sending my test to the lab to get results and she would give me a call. She called the Pharmacy for a prescription. I have been a Cancer patient since 2015 and keeping my strength and faith believing I can get to the place I can live with a quality of life. Dr. Acosta-Dickinson saw my meltdown as I had tears of struggling on losing my hair a second time. Dr. Acosta Dixon was able to see me when I was experiencing blood pressure issues. She stayed late to talk with me and prescribe a med to help. Her nurses called me to check on me in the next several days. I truly appreciate her concern.

Absolutely nothing bad to say But the waiting room for 58 minutes Was a little much with me being a heart patient. It’s hard to breathe with the damm mask on.

Dr. Acosta-Dickson is a consummate health care professional. She is 100% present and focused on you at every visit, and never rushing off to see the next patient while you still have unanswered questions. She deserves a better practice to back her up. One that returns phone calls. It used to be top notch, but has gone downhill in the past year.
She listens to her patients. Very good manner. She actually got my elderly Mother to exercise. Through this time of virus, all precautions were taken and the front desk staff was very attentive when I asked about portal issues. So thankful for them all!
Dr. Acosta-Dickson takes her time, attentive and thorough, which does me no good considering the staff backing her. No one ever answers the phone, they do not call back promptly, and I had my very first appointment cancelled and rescheduled when the Dr. took a day off. There is an online appointment setter, but it does not work unless you're a new patient. Staff confusion, arguing and personality conflicts have been on display to the waiting room. No matter how well I think this doctor is, If I cannot get an appointment, she's of no use to me. If you have the flu, and want Tamiflu within 24 hours how would I get it? Since I am more susceptible to illnesses due to age and an underlying medical issue, I cannot afford to get very sick without being seen. I researched awhile before I chose her, I'll research again to go elsewhere. The word Meritas will not be anywhere in any future office I might chose.
The office doesn't call back and sends an email when they cancel my appointment.
I have been going to Dr. Acosta-Dickson for 5 yrs. and appreciate her medical expertise, gift for truly listening, and compassion. I always feel I'm receiving excellent care. I would highly recommend her.

The two negative reviews are about the nurse/s NOT about Dr. Acosta Dickson. In fact, each time my wife and I have been seen by Dr Acosta Dickson over the years we have experienced only outstanding care and attention to our care. Many doctors spend only a very short time with their patients. Dr Acosta Dickson spends as much time with her patients as necessary for their well being. She takes her time while examining us. She's very compassionate.
In my experience I found out she did not run tests I needed, found out I was on medications I did not need. Very quick to put you on medications. Would not recommend.
Dr. Acosta-Dickson is absolutely amazing! She not only is very knowledgeable and thorough, but she makes me feel comfortable and listened to. I don’t go to the dr. often, but every time I am there she makes it seem as though she has all the time in the world to listen to me. I have recently started taking my Mom to see her and she’s so kind and caring with her, as well. The entire staff, from the front desk to Dr. Acosta-Dickson’s nurse, are always very nice and welcoming.
Stay away from this place! They are HORRIBLE!! Nurses and even the nursing supervisor are VERY RUDE. My mom ended up in the hospital due to their lack of care of not following up on results of her lab work. Cannot get anyone to ever call you back. I left a message with the nursing supervisor and never received a call back. Had to call back and demand to speak to her. I could not believe how extremely RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNCARING she was!! Needless to say will never go back to this practice. Would not recommend them to anyone!!
I called to talk to the nurse, she was extremely rude. I called to see if they could refill my prescriptions for another month since I'm away for the summer for an internship, and the nurse was not understanding and was just plain rude. When I said nicely I guess I'll have to go see another doctor she replied that's your choice and have a good day and hung up. Very very very rude.
My experiences with Dr Acosta-Dickson have all been top notch! She's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She helped me immensely in navigating through my recent cancer treatments and I highly recommend her for all your medical needs. I was thoroughly impressed with her communication skills and staying on top of recent treatment information. She opened ongoing Clinical Trial data on her laptop during my most recent visit to share the latest info available on neuropathy. That's top notch!
Dr Dickson was attentive until I had an issue with medicine she dismissedme actually looked down her nose at me as though she smelled something unpleasant, me. I went back to Gashland. I heard they were only allowed 2 issues per patient visit.
Dr. Acosta Dickson is AWESOME. She's so laid back and practical. I've been a patient with Acosta-Disckson for almost a year now and every visit has been pleasant. She listens to understand your problems and not to just reply, gives you practical options, and is a very effective communicator. I would highly recommend her.

I scheduled an appointment on 12/16. I had to take time off from work and ask permission to leave work. I scheduled my appointment a month prior. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had been cancelled. They never noticed me they took the liberty of cancelling. The office lady and the nurse were both disrespectful. While mistakes happen and I understand they happen, the staff did not try to find a solution. My time off was wasted. Patients should be notified of cancellation per courtesy!
