Hilde Zitzwitz, 92, doesn’t regret for an instant being NKCH’s first female TAVR patient. “Before the TAVR procedure, I felt very tired,” Hilde says. “I wasn’t able to do the things I wanted to do.” After TAVR, she’s back to walking in the neighborhood, caring for her home, visiting with friends and enjoying dinners out. Her advice to others who are thinking about having TAVR? “Do it. You will be fine. I’m not sorry at all. Slowly but surely I made it back to feeling like my old self.”
