Whether you’re a first-time visitor or already familiar with the campus, you may be surprised by all the nonmedical niceties North Kansas City Hospital offers patients and visitors. From their favorite grub to the amenities they admire most, eight NKCH and Meritas Health employees share their recommended places and spaces.

Gift Shop

Nicole Cagle, RT(R), ARRT Radiology

“There is a lot of cool stuff in our Gift Shop. Whether someone is looking to find a gift for a patient or grab a snack or candy bar, they will find what they need.”

Garden of Life

Bill Filipponi
Sterile Processing

“The Garden of Life is a great place to visit and meditate by yourself or with family and friends. It has tables, so visitors can have lunch, too.”

Pet Therapy

Shannon Hess, RN
GI Lab

“Our pet therapy is wonderful for our patients, especially those who are animal lovers, because it helps them heal and feel like they are at home.”

Valet Services

Abby Holden
Security

“At our circle drive outside the Pavilion, we have free valet service from 6 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Friday. If a vehicle is in valet after 8 p.m., visitors can call Security at ext. 2066 and we’ll retrieve their vehicle.”

Riverbend

Susan Huber
Patient Accounts

“The Riverbend Grille offers a variety of food with several dining options. Plus, the hours are convenient. It’s no wonder others boast about our cafeteria so much.”

Seasons Café

Nicole Kinder
Meritas Health Pulmonary Medicine

“I love Seasons Café. The cookies, coffee and service are simply the best.”

Riverbend. Again.

Alexandria Nolan
Food & Nutrition Services

“The food in the Riverbend Grille is great. I like the fried chicken and the biscuits and gravy. For those who are more health conscious, the salad bar and cooked vegetables are very good.”

Chaplain Services

Trevor Thompson
PRN Pool

“If family member has a loved one who is facing difficulty, they can pray with one of our on-site chaplains and visit our chapel to pray and reflect.”
