I have only had one appointment with Dr. Burnett, but that is enough to say I really like her. She has a great bedside manner, is proactive (e.g., recommends better options for medications), and is respectful of her patients' opinions and time. I also appreciate that even though I'm fat, since that's not what I was there to discuss and it wasn't particularly relevant, it didn't come up. Some doctors want to tie everything to body size, which can be concerning because as an overweight person, we don't always get our concerns heard, and treatment can be delayed.
Doctor Emily is an incredibly caring, attentive, and professional. From the very beginning, I felt heard and respected. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, answers all my questions, and genuinely cares about her patients’ well-being. I highly recommend her!
This office has been nothing but patient and kind. They are very welcoming. Emily Burnett is wonderful. She does not rush and spends as much time as you need talking and answering questions. Her positive and bubbly personality is so refreshing!
Probably the best Dr I have ever seen. She is amazingly kind, patient, and interested in helping you, hearing you, and making you feel safe.
It has been a very long time since I’ve had a doctor sit down and listen to all of my symptoms and concerns, and not simply dismiss them. Although she was unable to diagnose anything at our first appointment, I feel like we created a great follow up plan and I know her and her team have my back. Such a refreshing experience with the doctor!
Dr Burnett was so kind. A very caring listener. She really helped me figure out if what I’m living with has a solution. She was never checking her watch. I really appreciated her. My first visit was very good.

02/2026: I recently moved OB/GYNs from one in Kansas to North Kansas City and am SO impressed. When I called to make an appointment I wasn’t able to get an appointment anytime soon for the provider I thought I was interested in, so I ended up seeing Emily Burnett and couldn’t be happier!! I have never felt so heard and seen in an OB/GYN office. There felt like there was no rush, all my questions were valid and answered completely, and I loved how Dr.Burnett herself was the one to ask all the personal questions for my chart. It allowed me to get to know my new doctor while she got to know me! I was able to get my IUD removed during my yearly exam and everything felt comfortable. She explained everything before and as she did it (as it should be!) and made sure I was comfortable during the whole process. I decided to change OB/GYNs as I am hoping to get pregnant somewhat soon and wanted to find a place close to home for my pregnancy and will absolutely be using Dr.Burnett for my appointments, and hopefully my labor/delivery!! I have also recommended her to both my sister and mom to go to for their OB/GYN needs! Update 5/27/2026: I went in for what I thought was prolapse, and even though I wasn’t and I was just over analyzing things. She was so calm, listened intently, and has the most amazing bed side manners. I have truly never experienced a medical professional that is as communicative as Dr. Burnett is. When getting a pelvic exam, she narrates EVERYTHING, checks in all the time, and it really makes all the difference. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Burnett.
Dr. Burnett has this peaceful demeanor to her. On meeting with her, you are immediately comfortable and excited to have this person on your team. Looking forward to our future with her.

I have struggled for years to feel “heard” by medical professionals. Dr. Burnett took my concerns and symptoms seriously (the first time meeting her) and she ordered testing, which led to a long awaited diagnosis by my second visit. I waited 10+ years to have answers and feel better. I now feel hopeful for my future with mediation and treatments. Please advocate for yourself if you feel like you’re spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere at your appointments. Make an appointment with Dr. Burnett- I promise you she listens, and provides the best care.
